D A SH DIS A SSEMBL Y 2004-2006 NISS AN MAXIMA Disconnect the negative ba ttery ter- minal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 T wist and slide down the cover a t the base of the shift knob. (Figure A) 2 Remove the retaining c lip a t base of shift knob and pull up to remove.
2 D A SH DIS A SSEMBL Y Remove (2) Phillips screws at the bottom of the display panel and unc lip and remove the panel. (Figure F) 6 Remove (4) Phillips screws to remove the audio/c lima te control/display as one unit.
3 KIT A SSEMBL Y ISO DIN HE AD UNIT PRO VISIONS: 1 P osition the aftermarket radio into audio/c lima te control/dis- play bracket assembly and secure using the bottom (2) Phillips screw positions and the factor y hardware. (Figure A) 3 Using the factor y hardware secure the factory c limate control button assembly into the 99-7404.
4 FINAL A SSEMBL Y 1 Locate the factor y wiring har- ness in the dash. Metra recom- mends using the proper mating ada pter and making the con- nections as sho wn. (Isola te and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit) 2 Re-connect the negative ba ttery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.
