99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y RIO 2001 A B 1 Disconnect the negative battery- terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 Remove ashtray and (1) Phillips head screw inside ashtray cavity . (Figure A) 2 Remove knob from climate control slide lever .
2 99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y SEPHIA 1995-1997 Remove plastic screw cover to the left of the coin tray and remove the Phillips head screw from behind cover . 2 Remove switch blank to the far right of the switc h panel and remove the Phillips head screw from behind switch blank.
3 99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y SEPHIA 1998-2001 SPECTRA 2000-2001 Remove (1) Phillips head screw from above instrument cluster . 2 Unclip and remove dash trim panel. 3 Remo ve (4) Phillips head screws securing the radio. Unplug and remove the radio . 4 Continue to kit preparation .
4 99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y SPORT A GE 1995-1997 Remove ashtray and (2) Phillips head screws inside ashtray cavity . 2 Unclip and remove dash trim panel. 3 Remove (4) Phillips head screws securing the r adio . Unplug and remo ve the radio . 4 Continue to kit pr eparation .
5 99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y SPORT A GE 1998-2000 Unclip and remove dash trim panel. 2 Remove (4) Phillips head screws securing the radio. Unplug and remove the radio . 3 Continue to kit preparation. * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.
6 99-1003 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y SPORT A GE 2001-2003 Unclip and remove climate con- trol/vent trim panel. (Figure A) 2 Remove screw covers from trim panel below steering column and remove screws from behind cov- ers. Lower the trim panel (it is not necessary to remove the panel).

99-1003 KIT ASSEMBL Y DIN MOUNT RADIO * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. 8 B A C Slide the radio into the DIN cage/housing assembly until it snaps into place . (Figure C) 2 Continue to final assembly . Slide the DIN cage into the radio housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs outward.
