1 Dear Customer, Please read this manual thoroughly before ope rat ing the unit to become more familiar with it and obtain the performance that will bring you continued enjoyment for many years.
2 Before using the unit, be sure to read all operating instructions carefully. Please note that these are general precautions and may not pertain to your unit. For example, this unit may not have the capability to be connected to an outdoor antenna. 1.
SPEAKER CONNECTION 1. Place the speakers in convenient locations on either side of the unit or connect them to the unit as described below. 2. Locate the Speaker Jacks on the sides of the unit and connect the right speaker to the Right Speaker jack and the left speaker to the Left Speaker jack.

7 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS With the power on, press the EQ button on the remote control to cycle through the preset EQ settings. Each press of the EQ button will cycle as follows: JAZZ, POP, CLASSIC, FLAT.
8 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) Press the ON/STANDBY button to turn the unit on; the IR/Standby indicator will turn off. 1 MANUAL TUNING: Repeatedly press the Tune/Skip/Search n 1 or o 2 button to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears.
9 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) Press the ON/STANDBY button to turn the unit on; the IR/Standby indicator will turn off. 1 Press the MEMORY button 1 ; the preset number will blink in the display. Within three seconds, press the REPEAT/MEM Up button 2 or RANDOM/MEM Down button 3 until the desired memory number appears on the display.
10 Press the ON/STANDBY button to turn the unit on; the IR/Standby indicator will turn off. 1 The unit will start to play back automatically. If it does not start playing automatically, p ress the PLAY/PAUSE ( ®p ) button to begin playback on Track 1 .
11 While in the stop mode, press either the Tune/Skip/ Search n 1 or o 2 button to select a specific track for playback. 1 2 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ®p ) button.
12 To repeat all of the tracks on a disc continuously, first pre ss th e PLAY/PAUSE ( ®p ) button 1 to begin playback. Press the REPEAT/MEM Up button 2 once; “REPEAT” will light solid in the display and the CD will repeat all the tracks continuously.
13 Pre ss the Tune/Skip/Search n 1 or o 2 button to select the first track that you wish to program. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the MEMORY button 3 again. 0 2 3 1 4 Press either t he Tune/Skip/Search n 1 or o 2 but ton to select the next track you wish to program.
14 To play the tracks on the CD in a random order, while in the Stop mode, press the RANDOM/MEM Down button on the remote. “RAND” will appear in the display. 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ®p ) button. The unit will randomly play each track on the CD and then stop.
Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the co m pa ct disc label.
