A85/P85 4 Ins t all ation : A 85 integr at ed ampli fi er Positioning the unit Place your ampli fi er on a level, fi rm surface. Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near sour ces of heat or damp.
A85/P85 5 English Connecting to a power supply Wr ong plug? Check that the plug supplied with the unit fi ts your supply and that your mains supply voltage agrees with the voltage setting (115V or 230V) indicated on the rear panel of the unit 2 before plugging in.

A85/P85 9 English Usin g t he r emote c ontr ol CR-389 Remote Contr ol The CR-389 remote contr ol gives access to all functions available on the front panel of the A85. It also has contr ols to operate Arcam CD players, AM/FM tuners and DAB tuners. The remote contr ol transmits Philips RC-5 type codes.
A85/P85 10 Connecting to power , loudspeakers and other equipment Follow the installation instructions for the integrated ampli fi er on pages 4 – 6. AUDIO IN – Connect this input to the output sockets of your pr e- ampli fi er or the PRE OUT sockets of an integrated ampli fi er .
A85/P85 11 English POWER (and power indicator light) Switches the unit on and off. The light indicates the status of the ampli fi er . When you switch your ampli fi er on, the light glows amber for a few seconds, during which time the speakers are disconnected.
