7 ASSEMBL Y CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged befo re carr ying out any work on the tool. Installing side grip (handle) CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the side grip is installed securely bef ore operation. Screw the side grip securely on the position of the tool as shown in the figure.
8 T o tighten the lock nut, press the shaft lock firmly so that the spindle cannot re volve , then use the lock nut wrench and securely tighten clockwise . T o remove the wheel, f ollow the installation procedure in re verse. Installing or removing fle x wheel (optional accessory) W ARNING: • Alwa ys use supplied guard when flex wheel is on tool.
9 • NEVER bang or hit grinding disc or wheel onto work. • A void bouncing and snagging the wheel, especially when working cor ners , shar p edges etc. This can cause loss of control and kickbac k. • NEVER use tool with wood cutting b lades and other sawb lades.
10 NO TE: • When using wire cup brush, mount urethane washer to the spindle. It will mak e it easier to remove wire cup brush. Operation with wire wheel brush (optional accessory) CA UTION: • Check oper ation of wire wheel br ush b y r unning tool with no load, insuring that no one is in front of or in line with the wire wheel brush.
11 Replacing carbon brushes When the resin insulating tip inside the carbon brush is e xposed to contact the commutator , it will automatically shut off the motor . When this occurs, both carbon brushes should be replaced. K eep the carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders.
