9 Installing or removing drill bit For Model DP3003, DP4001, DP4003 Hold the ring and tur n the slee ve countercloc kwise to open the chuck ja ws. Place the bit in the chuck as f ar as it will go . Hold the ring fir mly and turn the sleev e clockwise to tighten the chuck.
10 OPERA TION Holding tool When drilling a large hole with a hole saw , etc., the side gr ip (auxiliary handle) should be used as a br ace to maintain safe control of the tool. Grasp the rear handle and the front grip firmly when star ting or stopping the tool, since there is an initial and final reaction.
11 • There is a tremendous twisting f orce ex er ted on the tool/ bit at the time of hole breakthrough. Hold the tool fir mly and e xer t care when the bit begins to break through the workpiece. • A stuck bit can be remo ved simply by setting the re versing s witch to rev erse rotation in order to back out.
