- 5 - Unpacking and placement of the Millenn ium The Lyngdorf Millennium is heavy and has no built in handles. Unpacking it can be a little bit tricky. To prevent back or t oe injuries, we strongly recommend you get someone to help you when it's time to lift the amp lifier out of the box.

RS232 Cable for firmware up grade from a PC 6. Programming cable Operating vo ltage The Millennium is availab le in a version for 115V mains voltage and in a version for 230V mains voltage.
- 7 - Introduction Lyngdorf Millennium is the world's first true-digital power amplifier where digital audio data is converted directly into sound without analog amplification or conventional low-level D/A conversion involved at any step. The core technology is based on patented EQUlBlT™ processing and output modules.
- 8 - Quick set-up A . Connect your speaker cable s to the terminals on the back panel. The speaker impedance should be 4-16 Ohms. If the speakers can be bi-wired, use both sets of terminals. Make sure that the red (+) terminal gets connected with the corresponding positive (+) terminal on your speake r.
- 9 - Front panel Fig 1: Millennium front panel. Controls The buttons/controls on the f ront panel of the Millennium can all be used either with direct presses on the front or by ope rating the similar keys on the included remote control. All keys on the front except from the Main s sw itch (1) can be found on the remote control as well.
- 10 - Adjusting the volume The volume can be ad justed by turning the big wheel or pressing volume up/down on the remote control. The volume le vel is displayed in decibels (dB where 99.9dB is the maximum setting giving full power fo r a full-scale input from a digital source.
- 11 - Polarity You can switch the polarity 180 d egrees with the remote control (explained later). The display confirms the polarity with eithe r "pos" or "neg". Mute W hen "M ute" is act ivated from the remote control the display shows "---" and the amp will be muted.

- 13 - Clock Gate A proprietary 5-pole XLR inp ut is provided for a clock synchronised CD-transport, where the reference clock is cont rolled by the Millennium. This featu re is called Clock Gate. W hen a co mpatible device is conne cted to the 5-pole connector (2) position D4 selects the Clock Gate input as a source.
- 14 - Remote Control The remote control is used to access the Millennium and replicate some of the buttons d irectly accessible on the front panel. The four buttons use d for selecting which device to control are described below. To control the Millennium the AMP key should be pressed.
- 15 - Front panel op erations The operations of the remote cont rol receiver can be bypassed on the front panel for the Millennium. Bypassing the remote control is done with a long press on the Analog left selection key “A”. W hen the remote is turned off the Lyngdorf Logo blinks twice after a 2 sec.
- 16 - Connecto rs Mains Connector Mains voltage to the Millennium is applied via an IEC320 type connector. The supplied cable with safety ground should be used to connect the Millennium to a mains outlet. WARNING: Connect the power i nput only to the AC source printed on the label.

- 19 - Trouble Shooting Protection Mode A sophisticated mon itor ing circuit controls t he operation of the amplifier. W hen an error is detected, the amplifier shut s down into protection mode immediately and ind icates the status by flashing the Lyngdorf logo.
