1 This document covers the installation of the Lowrance L WX-1 and details how to activate a SIRIUS subscription. L WX-1 package include: Main Components: Antenna Receiver (AR) pre-congured for a mast mount 1. AR Interconnect Cable (attached to AR) connects to IM • Interface Module (IM) 2.
2 L WX-1 Installation Options The L WX-1 can be mounted in three basic congurations: AR Mast Mount (factory-installed option) 1. AR Flush Mount with cable routed through the mounting surface 2. (e.g. deck) AR Flush Mount with cable routed on top of the mounting surface 3.
3 1. AR Mast Mount Installation The L WX-1 AR is shipped in the retail box factory-congured for a mast mount. T o use AR Mast Mount Installation: Loosen the four AR Bolts & Nuts (a couple of counter-clockwise 1. turns on each). The AR Mast Boot will loosen, allowing the AR Mast Mount to turn.
4 Align the AR in the general position desired and screw the AR Mast 4. Mount onto the Antenna Mount (hand-tighten as much as possible – DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN). Note that the AR is a friction t de - signed to allow for the occasional hand alignment.
5 Drill the 1/32 inch diameter starter holes for the AR Mounting Screws 3. and the 1/2 inch diameter hole to route the AR Interconnect Cable through the deck. Make sure the gasket is sealed tightly against the deck Insert AR Interconnect Cable through the deck and pull it through 4.
6 Gently form the AR Interconnect Cable from the exit of the rubber 4. boot up and over the rear cable exit of the AR Base Replace the AR Gasket on the AR Base, over the AR Interconnect 5. Cable, and then install the AR as described in “2. AR Flush Mount through deck installation.
7 Mount the IM with the IM Mounting Screws provided, on a vertical 5. surface, with the cables exiting downwards Connect the IM Power Cable to the vessel’s power (8 to 16 VDC 6. source) Connect the IM Network Cable directly to the Chartplo tter or a 7.
8 LED ON (blinks ON/OFF three times during the power-up cycle) 3. — Antenna Receiver is functioning correctly; however, IM Network Cable is not connected to end-user device or end-user device is not operational. LED ON (blinks ON/OFF three times during power-up cycle) then 4.
9 L WX-1 SIRIUS Activation Y ou must have a SIRIUS subscription to use the L WX-1 module. Individual weather and audio subscriptions are available. Y ou can also purchase a subscription that includes both weather and audio.
10 Have the ESN — electronic serial number — for the L WX-1 readily • available (ESN, a 12-digit number , can be found on the L WX-1 carton, L WX-1 antenna or via the SIRIUS status screen (see F.
