4 Logitec h® Befor e Y ou Begin If you already ha ve a wireless or ethernet netw ork and a computer to use as a server , setting up y our Squeezebox Duet should tak e about 30 minutes. T o make t he set up as simple as possible, there are a f ew things y ou should do.

10 Logitec h® Install SqueezeCenter (Optional) SqueezeCenter is t he music server that runs on y our computer and connects your Squeezebo x players and contr ollers to your local music files, as well as allowing you t o use third-party plug-ins (applications that extend the features and functions of y our Squeezebox).

16 Logitech® Bridged Network Configur ation This configuration should only be used if you do not ha ve a wireless network in your home. Y our Squeezebox R eceiver will be connect ed to your wired ethernet network, and Sq ueezebox Controller will use an ad-hoc connection to the R eceiver f or it’s network connection.

32 Logitec h® Appendix F: T roubleshooting When setting up the Controller , my netw ork does not appear . The most common cause is lack of signal strengt h. Either the Controller is t oo far awa y from the wireless r outer , or there is somet hing interfering with the signal.

Normally , you will see an option f or SqueezeNetwork, as w ell as one or more computers running Sq ueezeCenter . The comput ers running SqueezeCenter will appear as they do t o the network; often the name will be somet hing similar to JOHN-SMITH-COMPUTER .
