EtherFast ® Dual Gigabit with 24-Port 10/100 Switch 3 Getting to Know the Switch Power ( Gr een ) The LED will illuminate when the s witch is po w ered on. PER PORT Link/Act ( Gr een/Amber ) The LED will illuminate green when the port makes a connection at 100Mbps, and flash g reen when there is activity on the port at 100Mbps.
EtherFast ® Dual Gigabit with 24-Port 10/100 Switch Installing the Switch Fast Ethernet Considerations If you will be using the Switch for F ast Ether net (100Mbps) or Gigabit (1000Mbps) applications, you must observe the follo wing guidelines: • The maximum UTP cab ling length using Category 3 cable is 328 feet (100 meters).

Instant Gigabit ® Series 2. The follo wing screen will appear . Enter a Name for this connection. In the example below , the name of the connection is EF24G2.
After you lo g on to the Switch, the Main Menu screen will appear . The Main Menu scr een consists of a series of options. Each option leads you to the screen for that management setting. Highlighting any option selects it; pressing the Enter ke y takes you to that screen.

Using the ar ro w keys, choose an y of the preset groups that you wish to trunk together and press the Enter ke y . Repeat the process until you ha ve chosen all the groups that you w ant to tr unk. After hitting the Enter ke y for each choice, that preset will disappear from the list and appear on the previous screen.
