5 INST ALLA TION SQU ARE W A VE TIG 175 5 REMO TE CONTR OL CONNECTION A remote control receptacle is provided on the case front of the welder f or connecting a remote control to to the machine. A Foot Amptrol tm , f oot activ ated remote control, is included with the Square W ave TIG 175.
6 OPERA TION 6 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Square W ave TIG 175 is a constant current, single range A C/DC TIG (GT A W) arc welding pow er source with built-in arc starter / stabilizer .
7 OPERA TION 7 1. PO WER SWITCH & LIGHT - T ur ns power on or off to the welder . When s witched “ON”, the cool- ing f an runs and the light will illuminate indicating that the power is on. 2. TIG/STICK SWITCH - Selects the mode of output, either TIG (GT A W) or Stick (SMA W).
8 OPERA TION 8 6. REMO TE CONTR OL CONNECT OR - This connector provides connection f or a remote control. See Remote Control Operation in this section of the man ual.
9 OPERA TION 9 to weld through the complete range of 10 to 175 amperes in A C TIG or DC- TIG requiring only one electrode, a 3/32” 2% thoriated tungsten. WELDING IN STICK MODE 1. Put the electrode holder and cable quic k connect plug into the electrode output receptacle.
