Chapter 3 Basics 33 AirDrop (iPhone 5 or later) lets you shar e your photos, videos, intere sting websites , locations, and other items wirelessly with other nearby iOS 7 de vices that support AirDrop. AirDrop r equires an iCloud account, and transfers info using Wi-F i and Bluetooth.
Chapter 3 Basics 34 After you turn on P ersonal Hotspot, other devices can connect in the following ways: • Wi-F i: On the device, cho ose your iPhone from the list of av ailable Wi-Fi netw orks. • USB: Connect your iPhone to your c omputer using the cable that came with it.
Chapter 3 Basics 35 Use an Apple headset The Apple EarP ods with Remote and Mic (iPhone 5 or later) and the A pple Earphones with Remote and Mic (iPhone 4s or earlier) feature a microphone , volume buttons , and the center button, which lets you answ er and end calls or control audio and video pla yback, even when iPhone is locked.
Chapter 3 Basics 36 Connect to a Bluetooth device . T ap the device in the Devices list , then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to it. 4 41 Siri Make requests The power of Siri is y ours for the asking. Summon Siri. Press and hold the Home button, until Siri beeps. Note: T o use Sir i, iPhone must be connected to the Internet.
Chapter 4 Siri 42 Use Raise to Speak. Raise i Phone to your ear and s peak after the beep. (If the screen isn ’t on, rst press the L ock or Home button.) Raise to Speak must be turned on in Settings > G eneral > Siri. Change Siri’ s voice gender .
