K iBook 073-0581 Keyboard Replacement Instructions Be sure to f ollow the instructions in this sheet carefully . Replacing the ke yboard in your computer requires three basic steps: • Turn off the computer.
2 - iBook Keyboard Removing the Installed K eyboard 1 Place your computer on a clean, flat surf ace. Shut down your computer , then disconnect all cables . 2 T ur n ov er the computer and with a flat-b lade scre wdriver or a coin, turn the batter y screws countercloc kwise to release the batter y door .
iBook Keyboard - 3 4 Lift up the keyboard, flip it over, and lay it on the palm rests and trackpad. To avoid ESD damage, touch a metal surface inside the computer. 5 If necessary, flip up the wire bracket, and remove the AirPort Card from its connector.
4 - iBook Keyboard 6 Remove the two screws that secure the RAM shield, then carefully lift it out. 7 Pull up on the clear plastic ke yboard cable loop to disconnect the ke yboard cable from the logic board.
