Most menus consist of three levels to set up the options, but some have greater depth. If you press the MENU button, only the first and second level of the menu system will appear on the TV screen.

38 Lock (Parental Control) Menu Operation Lock System Sets up specific channels and ratings through blocking schemes. Activates or disables all of the Lock schemes previously set up. A password is required to gain access to the Lock menu. Y ou can change the password by entering a new password twice.

Information Displays Channel Banner Display The Channel Banner appears whenever you tune to a new channel or press the (SELECT) button on the remote control while watching a program. 1 Press (SELECT) while watching a program. The Channel Banner appears on the TV screen (Channel number , audio, station ID, and current time).
OPERA TION 47 Recording Setup Operation Manual Recording 1 Select the desired channel with CH (+/-). 2 Press RECORD/EDIT once. Recording will start. The menu will appear on the TV screen as illustrat- ed at left. 3 Press 3 / 4 repeatedly to select the recording time length.
Playback Operation Playback Select a program in the Program List then start playback. (Refer to “Program List Setting, General Operation” on page 44 to see more detailed information.
OPERA TION 49 T imeshift (Pause, Live TV/Playback) Setup and Operation Y ou can store a program in the HDD storage cache temporarily . If you use timeshift function a second time, previously cached timeshift segment will be deleted. 1 Press TIMESHIFT while watching a TV program.
Clip Edit Y ou can edit recorded programs on the HDD and save them. 1 Press RECORD/EDIT at the starting point of the section you want to edit. Progress of the clip being edited is indicated in Blue on the progress bar . 2 Press RECORD/EDIT at the ending point of the section you want to edit.

IEEE-1394 Devices 52 The list of devices appears if there are two or more IEEE-1394 devices connected and enables you to control each device from the on-screen menu.
