5 Introduction Before use To ensure proper use of this product, please read this owner ’s manual carefully and retain for future reference. This manual provides information on the operation and maintenance of your DVD/CD Receiver . Should the unit require service, contact an authorized service location.

8 Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. Tips: Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the DVD/CD Receiver . Use one of the connections described below .
9 Installation and Setup Optional Equipment Connections 1. Connect a VCR to the A V IN connectors. 2. Connect the USB port of USB Memory (or MP3 player , etc.) to the USB port on the front of the unit. To Remove the USB Device from the unit 1. Choose a different function mode or press the STOP ( x ) twice in a row .
10 Assembling and Connecting to the Speakers The speakers are detached from the speaker stands. Connect the speaker cables and assemble the front and rear speakers from speaker stands as illustrated. How to connect the Speakers 1. Connect the speaker cables to the appropriate terminal on the bottom of the round board.
11 Installation and Setup To mount the speaker on the wall 1. For Front or Rear Speaker : Remove the speaker from the stand (Follow steps 1-3 of “T o change the stand”). For Center Speaker : Remove the 4 screws from stand. 2. For Front or Rear Speakers :Disconnect the speaker cable from the terminal on the bottom of the round board.
12 HDMI Connection If you have a HDMI TV or monitor , you can connect it to this DVD/CD Receiver using a HDMI cable. 1. Connect the HDMI OUT jack on the DVD/CD Receiver to the HDMI jack on a HDMI compatible TV or monitor (H). 2. Set the TV’ s source to HDMI (refer to TV’ s Owner ’s manual).
13 Installation and Setup Displaying Disc Information on-screen Y ou can display various information about the disc loaded on-screen. 1. Press DISPLA Y to show various playback information. The items displayed differ depending on the disc type or playing status.
14 AUDIO Each DVD disc has a variety of audio output options. Set the receiver ’s AUDIO options according to the type of audio system you use. Dynamic Range Control (DRC) With the DVD* 1 format, you can hear a program’s soundtrack in the most accurate and realistic presentation possible, thanks to digital audio technology .
15 Installation and Setup LOCK (Parental Control) Rating Blocks playback of rated DVDs based on their content. Not all discs are rated. 1. Select “Rating” on the LOCK menu then press B . 2. T o access the LOCK options, you must input the password you have created.
16 Operation General features Buttons Operations Z (OPEN / CLOSE) Opens or closes the disc tray . X (P AUSE) During playback, press X to pause playback. Press X repeatedly to play Frame-by-Frame. SKIP ( . / > ) During playback, press SKIP ( . or > ) to go to the next chapter/track or to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track.
17 Operation Notes on general features: If you press SKIP ( > ) once during Repeat Chapter (T rack) playback, the repeat playback cancels. Zoom may not work on some DVDs. The A-B repeat function is available only in the current track.
18 Playing an Audio CD or MP3/WMA file This unit can play Audio CDs or MP3/WMA files recorded media. MP3/ WMA/ Audio CD Once you insert an MP3/WMA files recorded media or Audio CD, a menu appears on the TV screen. Press v / V to select a track/file then press PLA Y or ENTER and playback starts.
19 Operation Vi ewing a JPEG file This unit can play discs with JPEG files. Before playing JPEG recordings, read the notes on JPEG Recordings on right. 1. Insert a disc and close the tray . The PHOTO menu appears on the TV screen. 2. Press v / V to select a folder, and press ENTER.
20 Playing a DivX Movie file Using this DVD/CD Receiver you can play DivX disc. 1. Insert a disc and close the tray . The MOVIE menu appears on the TV screen.
21 Operation DVD Audio Discs DVD Audio is a new disc format building on the success of DVD to provide high quality , uncompressed, multi-channel audio for a new experience in audio quality . A DVD Audio disc can be identified by the DVD audio logo on the disc jacket or on the disc itself.
22 Presetting the Radio Stations Y ou can preset 50 stations for FM and AM (MW). Before tuning, make sure that you have turned down the volume. 1. Press BAND on the Remote Control until FM or AM (MW) appears in the display window . 2. And then every time you press BAND, FM and AM (MW) changes alternately .
23 Operation Sleep T imer Setting Y ou can set the DVD/CD Receiver to turn off automatically at a specified time. 1. Press SLEEP to set the desired sleep time. The SLEEP indicator and sleep time appears in the display window . 2. Each time you press SLEEP the setting changes in the following order .
