Scenario 5: Country ‑ or region ‑ spec ific s etup Differe nt countri es or region s have dif ferent ty pes of telephon e wall jacks. The st andard wa l l ja ck adopt ed by most c ountries or regio ns is the Regis tered Jac k-11 (R J-11).
Notes: • Do not remov e the wra p plug f rom the port of the printer. • The prin ter may not come w ith an RJ-11 a dapter in your count ry or region . If the ad dition al device (t elephone or an swering m achine ) has an RJ-11 co nnector , then you can remov e the wrap plug and conne ct the devic e to the port o f the printer.

Receiving faxes Tips for rec e iving faxes When re ceiving faxes: • Make su re that the printer is on and connected to a working teleph o ne, DSL, or VoIP line . The line is workin g if you hear a dia l tone. • If you set th e printer to receive f axes manua lly (Auto Answer O ff), then mak e sure that the ringe r volum e is not set to Off .
