1.2.4 Mounting on th e Ceiling / W all This d evice is designed for easily mo unted on the ceiling or wall with a simple mount bracket. Before mounting it to the expected location, please make proper con figuration for the device setting and run the PoE Ethernet cable to the location in adv ance.
C Plug-in the cable (Ethernet cable, Power cord) to the connectors in the button side. Run the cables upward to proper location. D Attached this device to mounting bracket by rotating it clock wisely to click into place.
1.2.5 LED Indicators LED Description S tatus 1. W hen the device is booted up and ready: 2. W hen W EC/Reset is triggered (with button pressed): S tatus LED flashes at different rate accordi ng button -pressed duration.
1.2.6 Button Definitio n There is one multi - function push button “W EC /Reset ” in this device. A ccording to different button pressed duration, the device will take specific reaction. For ease of interacting with the device, you can also check the S tatus and W iFi LED to det ermine when to release the button.
Configuration (Slave to Slave) (Press 3 sec) the ea sy configuration proce ss also suppo rts “Slave to Slave” configuration. 1. Press the W EC/Reset button of the first Slave AP (say Sl ave1 that has be en paired and configured) for 1~3 se conds, release it to trigger the W EC process.
Configuration (Press 13 sec) seconds and release it. 2. T he Slave A P will b e marked as an un -configured device, so th at it can be paired with ano ther Master or configured Slave A P later. For Master AP, there is no effect on this button behavior.
Chapter 2 Getting St arted Before you can install this product to designated location and m ake it operate properly, you have to configure the device setting to fit in y our network environment. Hardware Preparation: a. Con nect an Ethernet cable between this d evice and the compu ter that you w ill operate to set up the device.
After applying this setting , you can now access to the w eb UI for configuring the device. 2.1 Easy Setup via Web UI You can browse w eb UI to configure the device. Firstly you need to launch the Setup W izard browser first and then the Setup W izard will guide you step - by -step to f inish the basic setup process.
Select “Wizard” for basic settings in a simple w a y. Or, you can go to B asic Network / A dv anc ed Network / A pplication s / Sy stem to setup the configuration by your own selection.
Configure with the Setup Wiza rd Step 1 You can change the password of administrator here. Step 2 LAN IP Address. You have to change the IP address of this device according to your n etwork configuration. Step 3-1 W irel ess settings. You can specify th e W ireless setting fo r VAP1.
Step 4 Check the information again. Step 5 System is applying the setting. Step 6 Click finish to complete it. 2.2 Use WEC Button to Setup Wireless Profiles W EC (W ireless Easy Connection) is an easy con figuration feature that is similar to well-known W PS function.
2. 2 .1 One Maste r and several isolate d Slaves As illustrated in above figure, ho w to configure the three APs (AP1, A P2, AP3) to b uild up the “staff” wireless network? Y ou can follow the procedure bellow: Step Button Description 1 Set AP1 in Master Mode, and configure it via web UI.
3 Easy configure AP2 via W EC. Master to Slave WEC: 1. T rigger AP1 into W EC configuration process via pressing the WEC button for 3 se cond. 2. 2. 2.2 One Maste r and a series o f connected Sla ves This device a lso support universal rep eater function, you can easily extend the wireless network with a series rep eaters that are wireless con catenated to build up the wireless network without running Ethernet cables to each repeater .

Chapter 3 Making Configurations W henev er you want to co nfigure your n etwork or this device, you ca n access the Configuration Menu by ope ning th e web-browser and typing in the IP Address of the device.
Afterw ards, you can go Wizard, Basic Network, Adv anced Netw ork, Application or System respectively on left hand side o f web page. Note: Y ou can see the Connection S tatus screen below aft er you logged in. Note : Y ou can see all the status of this device in the ‘S tatus’ main menu section.
3.1 Basic Net w ork You can enter Basic Network f or Ethernet LA N, Wirele ss and IPv6 settings in this web page. 3.1.1 Ethernet L A N 1. Device Network T ype: This device supports two network types f or connecting to your local network.
Static IP : Allow a device to act as a S tatic host . If you need S tatic host and please entry IP Address. DHCP : Allow a device to a ct as a host requesting configuration parameters, such as an IP address from a DHCP server. Note: Please check if there is DHCP server in your Network, first.
3.1.2.1 Wireless Setup There are several wireless operation modes provided by this device. They a re: “ AP Only Mode ”, “ WDS Hybrid Mode ”, “ W DS Onl y Mode ”, and “ Universal Repeater Mode ”. Y ou can choose the expected mode and configure the device manually .
1. Wireless Module: Enable the wireless fu nctio n. 2. Wireless Operation Mode: Choose “ AP Only Mode ” from the list. 3. WP A- PSK Select Encryption mode and enter the Pre-share Key. You can fill in 64 hexadecimal (0, 1, 2…8, 9, A, B…F) digits , or 8 to 63 ASCII characters as the pre-share key.

In this m ode you can also enable the 80 2.1x feature if you hav e another RADIUS server f or user authentication. You ne ed to input IP address, port, shared key of RADIUS server here. In this mode, you can only choose “None” or “ W EP” in the encryptio n field.

3.1.3 IPv6 The growth of the Internet h as created a need for more addresses than are po ssible with IPv4. IPv6 ( Internet Protocol version 6 ) is a version of the Internet Protocol (IP) intended to succeed IPv4, which is the protocol currently used to direct almost all Internet traffic.
3.2 A d vanced Network This d evice also supports othe r ad vanced netw ork fea tures for yo u to further manage the device. You can finish the configuration for Firewall, and Management in this section.

3.3.2 S ystem St atus 3.3.2.1 Web Lo g 1. Log T ypes : You can select the log types to be collected in the web log area. There are “System”, “Attacks”, “Drop”, and “Debug” types for you to select. 2. Web Log : You can browse, refresh, download, and clear the log messag es.
3.3.2.3 Email A lert This device ca n also ex port system logs via sending emails to specific recipients. The items you have to setup include: 1. Setting of Email ale rt : Check if you want to enable Email alert (send syslog via email). 2. SMTP Server: Port : Input the SMTP server IP and port, which a re connected with ':'.
Y ou can c hange the Sy stem Password here. We s trongly recommend you to change the system password for security reason . Click o n “Sa ve” to store your settings or click “Undo” to give up the changes. 3.3.3.2 FW Up grade If new f irmware is available, you can upgrade device firmware through the W EB GUI here .

3.3.3.4 Others In t his section you can do system backup, reset t o default, system reboot setti ngs and ping test. 1. Backup Setting : Y ou can b ackup your settings by clicking the “ Backup” button and save it a s a bin f ile. On ce you want to restore th ese settings, please click Firmware Upgrade button and use the bin file y ou saved.

Windows XP In this example we’re using X P SP3 Media Center Edition and changing the IP address of the Wireless adapter. To set a Static IP in XP right-click on My Network Places and select Properties.
Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button. Now change the IP, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Se rver Addresses. W hen you’re finished click OK.
You will nee d to clos e out o f the Network Connection Pr operties screen before the changes go into effect. Again you can verify the settings by doing an ipconfig in the command prompt. In case you’re not sure how to do this, click on Start then Run.
In the Run box type in cmd and click OK. Then at the prompt type in ipconfig and hit Ente r. This will show th e IP add ress f or the network adapter you changed. If y ou have a small o ffice or home network, assigning each comput er a specific IP address makes it a lot easier to manage and troubleshoot network connection problems.
