Chapter 1. About the L enovo P referred P ro USB Fingerprint K eyboard This manual provides product description and instructions for installing and using the L enovo ® Pr eferred Pr o USB Fingerprint Keyboar d (her eafter called the keyboar d). Pr oduct description This section pr ovides a gener al description of the keyboar d.
When the Numeric Lock indicat or is illuminated, the numeric keypad on the keyboar d is enabled. When the Numeric L ock indicator is not illuminated, only the cursor control on the numeric keypad is enabled. Pr ess the Numeric Lock (NumLk or NmLk) key t o switch back and forth between these modes.

Chapter 3. Using the L enovo Pr eferred P ro USB Fingerprint K eyboard This section pr ovides information about using the fingerprint reader on the keyboard. Creating a passport and enr olling fingerprints T o creat e a passport and enr oll your first fingerprint, do the following: • F or the Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.

Chapter 6. T roubleshooting The following ar e the most common keyboar d pr oblems. If you encount er any of the following problems with the keyboar d, refer to the corr esponding solution. Problem: The fingerprint r eader is not working corr ectly .
• F or Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 operating system: 1. T o go to Control P anel, move the pointer to the top-right or bottom-right corner of the scr een t o display the charms. Click Search and then sear ch for Control P anel. 2. Click the View by menu and select the Small icons or Lar ge icons view .
