1 General Information About NetworkAIR 1000 APC ’ s Netwo rkAIR 1000 is a portable, com pact, air- conditioner designed for spot-cooling, em ergency-cooling, and after-hours cooling of server closets, data centers, confer ence rooms, hom e offices, or room s housing heat-sensitive equipment.

Fan Speed Sets desired fan speed: high, medium or low . Louver Directs the air distribution. T emperature Sets the desire d temperature (61°– 86°F).

5 Installation Wa r n i n g s Use the uni t on a flat surface where the air outlets are unobstructed. Do not place the unit less that 20 inches (50 cm ) away from any wall or obstacle. Do not install this air condition er where there are fum es or flamm able gases, or in an extrem ely humid space such as a green house.
6 Installation continued Check components 1. Check that the condensate tank on the side of the unit is in place and is properly seated. If the tank is not installed properly , the unit wil l not operate. 2. Open the air filter cover on the left sid e of the unit and check that the air filter is clean.
7 Operation Power T urn the unit on or off by pressing the Power button. Cooling • T o select the Cooling m ode, press the Mode button until the cooling m ode indicator appears in the LCD window . • Set the fan speed by p ressing the Fan Speed button.
8 Operation continued Ti me r Y our portable air con ditioner has a tim er feature that allow s the unit to shut off or turn on automat ically in a preset number of hours. 1. Set Timer On mode a. Make sure mode (cool, dehum idify or fan), tempera- ture, and fan opt ions are on t he desired setting.

10 Installing the Exhaust Kit continued Installing into ceiling plenum, continued 5. For permanen t installation, cut five inches off the ceiling tile so that the tile will l ay flat in the grid. 6. For temporar y installations, slide the ceiling ti le tight against the ceiling adapter .
11 Drainage Methods of Draining The NetworkAIR 1000 has two m ethods of disposi ng of the condensation. The first is a condensate tank that can be manually em ptied. Th e second method is to attach a drain h ose to the unit so the water will run to a floor drain.
12 Drainage continued Emptying the tank T o manuall y drain the tank: 1. T urn off the unit . 2. Using the handle, slowly rem ove the tank from the side of the unit. 3. Pour out any condensation accum ulated in the tank. 4. W i pe up any condensation that m ay have drained off the evaporator coil.
13 Drainage continued The drainage tube 1. Slide out the drain valve from the left side of th e unit. 2. Attach the drainage tube to the drain valv e. 3. Route the tubing downward so that con densate flows prop- erly into a floor drain or cond ensate line below the unit.
14 Maintaining the Unit Clean the air filter APC recom mends cl eaning your air filter at least af ter every two weeks of use. Keeping your air filter clean wi ll maxim ize the perform ance and life of this product. 1. T urn off the unit and unplug it fro m its electrical ou tlet.

16 Maintaining the Unit continued Storing the Unit The following precauti ons must be taken when storing the unit for extended periods of tim e: 1. T urn off unit. 2. Clean the air filter and allow to air dr y before replacing in unit. 3. Empty the con densate tank.

20 W arranty Information Limited warranty American Power Conversion (APC) war rants the NetworkAir 1000 to be free from d efects in m aterials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Its obligation under thi s warranty is lim ited to repairing or replacing, at its own sole opt ion, any such defec- tive products.
