User Guide for Swit ch_Back 1 1G ETTING S TARTED Finding your phone's serial number T o activate your Virgin Mobile account, you need your phone's serial numb er . T o locate the number: 1. T urn your phone off. 2. Hold your phone face up in your left hand.
2 Getting Started The battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen tells you whether the phone is: • Charging (the icon is animated) • Partially charged • Fully charged Note: The battery will not charge if you use the phone while it i s connected to an AC adapter .

20 Entering Text Entering symbols While entering text, you can enter many symbols with the keypad. T o access extra symbols: 1. From the text entry screen, select Optio ns . 2. Select Add Symbol . 3. Press the key corresponding to the symbol you want.

22 Entering Text Changing modes Sometimes you need to change modes. For example, to enter numbers in an email address while in m ode, you must change to mode, enter the numbers, and then change back to mode to complete the address. 30 Text Messaging 6T EXT M ESSAGING This chapter describes how to send, receive, and erase text messages from your phone. For information on voicemail messages, see “V oicemail” on page 17. Important: The features and menus described in this chapter may vary depending on services available in your area.

From the text entry screen, select Optio ns . 2. Select an option and press : – Insert auto text to scroll through the list of options and press to select one.
32 Text Messaging T o create a signature: 1. Select Menu → Settings → Messaging → Signature . 2. Enter your signature in the text field. 3. Select OK to save the setting. Note: The characters in the signature are included in the total character count of the message.
User Guide for Swit ch_Back 33 Viewing failed or pending messages Failed or pending messages are stored in your Outbox. T o view your Outbox: 1. Select Menu → Messaging → Outbox . A list of all failed or pending me ssages appears. 2. Scroll through the list of messages and press to read one.

44 Using the Camera – White Ba lance allows the camer a to adjust for different lighting. Options are Automatic, Fluorescent, Incandescent, or Daylight. – Color T one allows you to capture pictures with different coloring. Options are Normal, Black & White, Negative, and Sepia.

58 Using Voice Recognition 14 U SING V OI CE R ECOGNITION V oice recognition allows you to make and answer calls by speaking commands into the phone’ s microphone. Setting up voice dialing T o make or receive calls using voice dialing, contacts must be saved with associated voice tags.
