In Airplane mode, however , your phone will not emit RF signals.

22 Storing Contacts Assigning ringers 1. Press and hold up to select Contacts . 2. Highlight a contact and press . 3. Highlight the contact name and press the right softkey to select Options . 4. Select Ri nger → Assign Ringer . 5. Scroll down the list to hear the different ringers and press to select one.

26 Using the Camera 5U SING THE C AMERA Tips before operating your camera • Y ou cannot activate the camera while on an active call or while browsing files in the media gallery . • Once the camera is active, the home screen acts as the viewfinder .

Options are Automatic, Fluorescent, Incandescent, or Daylight. – Quali ty sets the picture com pression. The higher the compression, the better the detail of the picture (higher pixel rate).

32 Using the Music Player Putting music files onto the memory card Music files can be put onto the memory ca rd by either using an optional memory card reader for your computer or by using a KX5 USB cable and placing the KX5 into Mass Storage Mode . Note: Use only a previously formatted memory card when loading music files.

34 Using the Music Player Music Player controls While you are listening to a song , you can use the Navigation key as follows: Up - V iew the playlist. Down - Restart the s ong. Left - Play the previous song in the playlist. Right - Play the next song in the playlist.

36 Using Media Ga llery 7U SING M EDIA G ALLERY The Media Galle ry stores camera pictures, images, sounds, and videos in the phone and displays those files on the phone’ s screen. Accessing files 1. Select Menu → Media Gallery . 2. Select an option: – Camera Pictures displays thumbnails of the photos you have taken in chronological order .

40 Customizing Your Pho ne Silencing all sounds Y our phone is set to make sounds when you receive calls, press keys, navigate through menus, and receive alerts (such as new messages). Y ou can silence all sounds and set the phone to vibrate or light up when you receive calls and alerts.

Sounds will not occur during an incoming call, if you are in a call, or if a headset or hands-free car kit is a ttached to your phone.
42 Customizing Your Pho ne Adjusting speakerphone volume 1. Select Menu → Settings → So unds → Spkrphone V olume . 2. Press right to increase the v olume, or left to decrease the volume. 3. Press the left softkey to select Save . Adjusting key tone volume Y ou can change the volume of the tones the phone makes when you press the keys.
