Safety inf ormation • This device has not been designed for use by people (including childr en) with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or lack of experience and/or kno wledge, unless they are supervised by a responsible person (for their own safety) or have r eceived instructions on how to use the device.
Risk of electric shock! • Only connect the device to a properly installed and ear thed mains sock et. The mains voltage must agree with that stated on the device’ s specification plate. • Damaged adapters or mains cables should be ex changed immediately by an authorised technician or the Customer Ser vice in order to avoid risks.
• Protect the device fr om moisture and spray ed water . Therefore do not place any objects filled with water (e.g. vases) on or near the device. Risk of fire! • Do not use the device near hot surfaces. • Do not set the device up where it is e xposed to direct sunlight.
• Due to the charging current, only batteries with the appropriate capacities may be charged: Ni-MH (AA): min. 2000 mAh Ni-MH (AAA): min. 850 mAh If an attempt is made to charge batteries with a significantly lower capacity , they could be de- stro yed.

• The batteries could become hot during charging. NEVER touch hot batteries! There is a risk of being burnt! Af ter charging, first of all remo ve the power adapter of the quick battery charger from the plug sock et. Then allow the batteries to cool down befor e rem o ving them fr om the qu ick batter y charger .
Thunder storms! Devices connected to mains pow er can be damaged during a thunder storm. If there is a thunder storm, always remo ve the mains plug from the sock et.
Notes on handling batteries The device uses batteries. Please note the following on handling batteries: Risk of explosion! Do not throw batteries into a fir e. Do not rechar ge batteries. • Never open, solder or w eld batteries. There is a risk of explosion and injury! • Check batteries regularly .
Commissioning Stationar y operation • Remo ve all components – quick battery charger , pow er adapter , vehicle-adapter and batteries – from the packaging. • Before taking the quick batter y charger into use, check that all items are complete/available a nd free of visible damage.
Mobile operation With the supplied vehicle-adapter you can also connect the quick batter y charger to the 12-V cigar lighter socket of a v ehicle into the 12-V on-board pow er supply socket of a v ehicle. Thereby , you simply use the vehicle-adapter instead of the pow er adapter .
Note: Also ensure that all possible soiling (e.g. r e- mains of ash) is remov ed from the inside of the cigar lighter sock et! Otherwise, it could lead to a malfunction in the operation of the quick b.
Note: It is possible that the cigar-lighter only functions with a switched-on v ehicle ignition. If you ar e unsure, consult the vehicle handbook. Caution! For vehicles in which the cigar light er resp. onboard pow er socke ts also function with a switched-off vehicle ignition: Only use the quick batter y charger with the engine running.
Charging batter ies Danger! Charge exclusiv ely Ni-MH batteries that are suitable for quick char ging. NEVER rechar ge batteries of other types or non-rechar gable batteries. These are not suitable for r echarging. If you attempt to do so, it could irrepar ably damage the quick battery charger and the inserted batteries.
It is p p o o s s s s i i b b l l e e to charge just one, or two, thr ee or four batteries, of the same type. It is n n o o t t p p o o s s s s i i b b l l e e to charge batteries of the types AA and AAA together and at the same time. Always start by loading the batteries into the first compartment of the charging slots (left).
The various displays hav e the following meanings: • The control lamp does not glo w: - The inserted batteries are not positioned correctly in the charging slot . - The batteries are possibly defectiv e. • The control lamp continuously glo ws red: The batteries are being charged.
Warning! The batteries become hot during charging. NEVER touch hot batteries! There is a danger of being burnt! • Remo ve the pow er plug or the vehicle adap- ter of the quick batter y charger fr om the pow er socket and allo w the batteries to cool down.
A ver age c harging times Depending on the type, age and remaining charge in the batteries, the charging process can take various lengths of time. The average char ging time can be taken fr om the following table. T ake note how ever that the times given ar e only guiding values.
T roubleshooting The quick batter y charger displays no functions With mains power operation: • Check to see if the low-tension plug on the cable of the po we r adapter is correctly inserted into the pow er adapter connection . • Check to see if the power sock et into which t he pow er adapter has been inser ted is "live".
The inser ted batteries are not being charged: • Check that the batteries are being inser ted in accord with their polarity . • Check to see if you hav e inser ted batteries suit- able for ch ar ging into the qu ic k batter y charger .
Other malfunctions Make contact with one of our ser vice par tners close to y ou if ... • the malfunction cannot be corrected as described above, • or , when operating the quick batter y charger , other malfunctions occur . - 24 - IB_KH972_E26171_LB3C 13.
Cleaning Risk of injury from electric shock: • Nev er immerse the device’ s parts into water or other liquids! • Do not allow liquid to pene trate the housing. Cleaning the housing: Clean the housing of the quick batter y charger and the power adapter e xclusiv ely with a lightly moiste- ned cloth.
Disposal Nev er dispose of the device in the normal household rubbish. Dispose of the device using an appro ved disposal company or using local disposal facilities. This product is subject to Eur opean Directive 2002/96/EC. Please follow the currently v alid regulations.
W arranty and Ser vice The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years fr om the date of purchase. The appliance has been manu-factured with care and meticulously e xamined before delivery . Anvisninger om omgang med batterier Apparatet bruger batterier . Under omgang med batterier skal du vær e opmærksom på følgende: Eksplosionsfare! K ast ikke batterier på ild. Genoplad aldrig batterier . • Du må aldrig åbne batterier eller lodde eller svejse på dem.
Ibrugt agning Stationær drif t • T ag alle k omponenter - batterioplader , strømfor- syning , KFZ-adapter og batterier - ud af indpakningen. • K ontroller inden ibrugtagning, om lev erancen er komplet og om der e ventuelt er synlige besk adi- gelser .
Mobil drif t Med den medfølgende KFZ-adapter kan du også tilslutte batteriopladeren til en 12-V-cigarettænder i en bil eller benytte en 12-V-netstikk ontakt i en bil. Der ved an vender du KFZ-adapter i stedet for strømforsyningen . Advarsel! Brug udelukkende batterioplader en sammen med den medfølgende KFZ-adapter .

Oplad batterier Fare! Oplad kun Ni-MH-batterier , der kan lynopla- des. Oplad aldrig batterier af andre typer eller ikke-genopladelige batterier . De er ikk e beregnet til opladning. Ellers k an lynopladeren og de indsatte batterier beskadiges, så de ikk e længere k an repar eres.
Det er muligt kun at oplade et, to, tr e eller fire batterier af samme type. Det er ikk e muligt at oplade batterier af typerne AA og AAA samti- dig. Læg altid batteriet i det første rum i lades- kakterne, når du begynder (til v enstre). Bemærk: Sørg for , at batteriernes poler vender rigtigt, når du lægger dem i ladeskakternes rum.
