- 4 - Initial use Unpacking the device / checking the pac k age contents Impor tant! K eep the plastic packaging w ell away from small childr en. There is a risk of suocation! Unpack the device and accessories.
- 5 - Note: If no L CD display q is visible check the polarity of the batteries or install new ones. Operating components LCD display The L CD display q is divided into elds. T ext field 2! Here is sho wn the currently selected device, for e xample DVD, TV VCR etc.
- 6 - The standard r eadout of the L CD display q consists of the details for the rele vent device, for e x ample, "T V", the initial for the day of the week and the time of day indicator . Buttons Note: All the functions described here can, of course, only be used if they ar e suppor ted by the device being contr olled.

- 11 - 9. If most of the buttons function press the OK button k t o save the setting. In the L CD display q "OK" appears. Now the mode "BRAND CODE" appear s again. 10. If, how ever , none or only a few of the buttons function select with the or button t the next code and test again as described in step 8.
- 12 - 1. Press the device butt on e for the device that is to be con- trolled (i.e. V CR). 2. Switch the device that is to be controlled with the remo te control on. With V CR/DVD/CD de vices please inser t a tape and/or disc. 3. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 sec- onds.
- 13 - Sy s tem-Setup Setting the time The L CD display q show s you the time of day . Y ou set this as follow s: 1. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 seconds. The notice "CODE SETUP" appears. If appo x. 15 seconds passes without an entr y the device exits the menu and returns to the standar d display .
- 14 - Adjust contrast Y ou can set the display's contrast as follow s: 1. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 sec- onds. The notice "CODE SETUP" appears. 2. With the or button t select "SY STEM SETUP" and conrm with the OK button k .
- 15 - Timer Setup The URC oers 2 timer modes, sleep timer and e vent timer . Sleep timer 1. Press the device butt on e for the device that is to be con- trolled (i.e. V CR). 2. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 sec- onds.
- 16 - Tips: 1. P er timer memor y slot a maximum of 14 buttons can be progr ammed. Af ter entr y of t he 14th button the sequence will be automatically saved and "FULL" is sho wn in the L CD display q . 2. In this menu also the device will return to the standar d dis- play af ter appro x.
- 17 - 5. First pr ess the button on the URC that is to be taught. In the L CD display q "LEARNING" appears. The UR C now w aits for the infrar ed signal from the original remote contr ol. Note: Should the notice not change to "LEARNING" y ou have selected a button for which no button code can be taught.
- 18 - T o programme a Macro For Macr o programming pr oceed as follow s: 1. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 sec- onds. The notice "CODE SETUP" appears. 2. With the or button t select "MA CRO SETUP" and conrm with the OK button k .
- 19 - T o delete all Macros T o delete all pre-pr ogrammed Macros pr oceed as follow s: 1. Hold down the S button r for a little longer than 3 sec- onds. The notice "CODE SETUP" appears. 2. With the or button t select "MA CRO SETUP" and conrm with the OK button k .
- 20 - Note: The input of the channel numbers can vary according to the model and brand of the selected devices. If necessary , with multi-digit channel numbers you must r st press the button a .
- 21 - For operation T o operate one of the pr ogrammed devices with the UR C > rst press the corr esponding device button e . Then point the URC to this de vice and press the desired button. Put the number buttons > o ex actly as you do with the original remote contr ol.
- 22 - It is possible that you ar e using the wrong code. Star t the > brand code sear ch, the automatic code search or the di- rect code input (manual). The URC does not change the station on the device. Press the corresponding de vice button > e to set the UR C to the correct mode.
