4 Introductio n: Thank you for you r purchase o f a Knoll CI6 12 chann el controller ampli fier and congratul ations on your choice. The C I6 features si x deluxe digi tal volume controll ed stereo ampli fiers with indi vidual seven source selection. Thi s is Knoll's fourth gen eration of multi -chan nel, high-qu ality power ampli fiers.
5 CI6 i ncludes a quiet therm ostat controll ed internal fan to in crease its l ong - term power output capability. controll er ports. Each zone or room has its own i nfrared outp ut jack. An all zone jack is al so provided. amplifiers can be conn ected to the se outputs.
6 Speaker connecti ons The CI6 has si x stereo 50 watts p er channel ampl ified outputs. Chan nels 5 and 6 also have li ne level outputs to connect to l arger powered ampl ifiers.
7 RS232 Connecti on The RS232 connecti on is used to cont rol the CI6 by an external controll er or computer and can wo rk wi th our without keypads. Th e C I6 connects to t he RS232 controller with a 9-pi n db9 connector. The prog rammin g reference follows.

11 The procedure to conn ect the two contr oller ampli fiers is: 1. Connect the “Data Out” jack on C I6 #1 to the “Dat a In” jack on C I6 #2 .using the 3.5mm stereo patch cord. 2. Connect all of the up t o seven sources usi ng short as possi ble good qualit y RCA patch cords to CI6 #1 sou rce input s.
12 W ithout pressing any other buttons on the k eypad: 1. Press “MUTE” 2. Press and hold “IN PUT” for 5 seconds. T his ke ypad can now be assigned a zone. “Source 1” will show o n the scr een. 3. Press “OFF” 4. Zone change scr een will sh ow.
13 The LCD displa y then displays: Source 2 Press the UP or DOWN buttons next to the IN PUT buttons ag ain to scroll through the label selections for sourc e 2 on the bottom row of the LCD displa y. When the correct s election is displayed press the I NPUT button to confirm this choice.
