1 INTRODUCTION This Anton/Bauer Inte rActive 2000 PowerCharger represents over 25 years of Ant on/Bauer technology and experience in a tota lly new portable power system .
2 EXPANSION OPTIONS The exclusive modular desi gn of the new Anton/B auer InterActive 2000 PowerCharger provides ultimate flexibility for all v ideo operations. Startin g with any base model, a wide range of expansion modul es and upgrad es can be added: diagnosti c/discharge functions, charge position expansi on, and power supply modules.
3 SAFEGUARDS Power Sources: This unit was designed to operate at mains voltages from 90 to 250 Volts AC, 50-60 Hz. Risk of Electrical Shock: Refer servicing to quali fied service personnel. TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
4 Software revision, power rating, and m ode l number can be obt ained from the Signat ure Display. Wh en the LCD shows the main display screen, press the TEST button on th e front panel. Charging As with all Anton/B auer chargers, charging with an Int erActive 2000 PowerC harger is fully automatic.
5 Three Stage Charging Methodology In general, the PowerCharger will deliv er a three stage charge routine to each battery. 1. Stage One will deliver a high rate charge matched to the capabilities of th e battery (typi cally a one or two hour ra t e, depending on battery t ype and charger power module rati ng).
6 1 - - - - - - - 2 - - - - - - - NOTE: Anton/ Bauer strongly recomm ends that batteries are kept on t he PowerCharger until ready for use. The Lifesaver mode will keep th em 100% charged and ready for use.
7 LED Indications Each charge position of a PowerCharger and PowerCharger Charge M odule (XM models) has a pair of LEDs (one red, one green) which indicate the status of the batt ery attached to th at position.
8 Priority Battery Function A unique operating feature of all PowerCharg ers allows the operator to select any battery on any charge position as a PRIORI TY BATTERY.
9 The standard test is adequ ate for virtually all conditio ns to verify the capacity o f the battery before taking it into the fiel d. The 24 hour test need only be perform ed on a battery, typical ly an older one (2 years or m ore), which may have exhibited questionable performance.
10 When testing is completed, the LCD Main Display will indicate “TEST DONE”. To display or prin t test resu lts: 1. Press the DISPLAY button on the PowerCharger front panel to scrol l to the Primary Position Display for the battery tested. 2. Press the TEST button.
11 XM CHARGE EXPANSION MODULE The “XM” charge expansion modul es easil y a tt ach to any m odel PowerC harger via the 9- pin D-shell comput er style connector m arked “CHARGE MODULE ACCESSORY”. These economical m odules automa tically expand the PowerCharger’s chargi ng capabilities with additional positions.
12 POWER LOSS MEMORY MODE The PowerCharger features a special Powe r Loss Mem ory or “Power Down” mode. When mains power is interrupted while ba tteries are mounted, the PowerCharger will automatically indicate the charge status o f all batteries until power is restored (up to 16 hours).
13 WARRANTY IMPORTANT: PLEASE MAIL WARRANTY REGISTRATION CARD WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS OF PURCHASE. We must have this card on file at our SERVICE DEPARTMENT to establish this warranty.
