BEFORE WIRING THE ALARM. • For alarms that are used as single station, DO NOT CONNECT THE RED WIRE TO ANYTHING. Leave the red wir e insulating cap in place to make certain that the red wir e cannot contact any metal parts or the electrical box. • When alarms are inter connected, all interconnected units must be powered fr om a single circuit.

Install the alarm on the trim ring and rotate the alarm in the direc- tion of the “ON” arrow on the cover until the alarm ratchets into place (this ratcheting function allows for aesthetic alignment). 7. T urn on the AC power . The green AC Power On Indicator should be lit when the alarm is operating from AC power .
4. OPERA TION AND TESTING OPERA TION: The smoke alarm is operating once AC power is applied, a fresh battery is installed and testing is complete. When products of combustion ar e sensed, the unit sounds a loud 85db pulsating alarm until the air is cleared.
