Features KX1 00.2 & KX200.4 T echnical Manual V ersion 2.0 Page 2 R adically Adv anced Chassis with removable shroud and impr oved heatsink technology . The heatsinks provide the amplifier with longer runtime, improved r eliability and performance.
Custom tooled gold plated connectors Assure maximum power transfer and damping. SAMS ( S ter eo A nd M ono S imultaneously) Amplifier will operate into a bridged mono load and a stereo load at the same time. This type of system is great if the consumer is just starting out, or on a tight budget.
When selecting a location to mount your Kicker amplifier be sure it is structurally sound and that there are no items behind the ar ea that could be damaged by the screws. Check for wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, gas tanks, etc. All amplifiers generate heat under normal opera- tion.

Wiring cont. The use of twisted pair interconnects is recommended for all installations to minimize noise. When r outing these cables through the automobile, try to keep them away from factory wiring har nesses and other power wiring. If you need to cross any of this wiring do so at a 90 degree angle to r educe the possibility for noise problems.
A djusting Amplifier Controls On your Kicker amplifier there are r otary controls and switches on the end panel. These controls ensure the relia- bility and performance of the amplifier , so they need to be set correctly . If you are using a KX150.4 you will have two sets of rotary controls and switches.
Crosso v er Control Where you set the crossover is very subjective and can be fine tuned to match your listening pr eference or speaker requirement. If the amplifier is driving small speakers (cr ossover set to HI P ASS) this will eliminate the low frequencies from damaging the high fr equency speaker .

Formulas KX1 00.2 & KX200.4 T echnical Manual V ersion 2.0 Page 17 Ohm’s La w E = I X R Wher e: E = V oltage (V olts) I = Curr ent (Amps or Amper es) R = R esistance (Ohms or W W ) F ormula V ar.
(T otal RMS power output into 4 W W ) x 2 = (T otal input wattage [W atts]) (T otal input wattage) = (Maximum input current [Amps]) (Supply V oltage) Example: Amplifier with a r ating of 1 00 watts per channel into 4 W W 200 x 2 = 400 W atts (T otal input po wer) 400 W atts / 12.
