5 Cleaning the disc slot As dust can accumulate in the disc slot, clean it occasionally. Your discs can get scratched if you put them in a dusty disc slot. Lens Fogging Right after you turn on the car heater in cold weather, dew or condensation may form on the lens in the disc player of the unit.
6 Before Use Region codes in the world The DVD players are given a region code according to the country or area it is marketed, as shown in the following map. 1 2 4 1 5 4 5 2 1 2 6 3 This player has been designed to play back the DVD software which has been encoded for specific region areas.
7 DVD: Digital Versatile Disc A type of disc which contains recording of audio/video packaged media with high video and audio quality, such as a movie, featuring large recording capacity and digital signal processing capability. VIDEO CD (VCD) A type of CD which contains the recording of moving images.
8 Opening/Closing the Monitor Opening the Monitor Set the vehicle’s parking brake. Press the OPEN button. The monitor will open. Once the monitor is fully out, lift it by hand and set it to an easily visible angle. Closing the Monitor Set the lower the monitor so that it is completely flat.
9 E B " ON " Backlight brightness is automatically adjusted according the surrounding brightness as detected by the auto dimmer sensor of the monitor unit. " OFF " Backlight brightness is adjusted using the picture quality adjustment.
10 Source Icon change When there are more than 7 sources Items, [ ] is displayed. The selectable source icons are switched in order to touch [ ]. E G 12 System Setup Function <When the KDS-P900/P901 is connected> You can select whether to output AV-OUT sound from the rear or from the front. Don’t turn the Dual Zone system ON if discs are played that were recorded by DTS. If it is set ON, the disc’s sound won’t be output.

A 20 DVD,VCD Setup Function Setting the password Touch the number [ z ] - [ / ] and enter your password ( 4-digit ). Input numbers are displayed “*”. If you enter the wrong number, touch [Clear]. The entered number is cleared. Touch [ Enter ] . • Registered number can be used as a password.
21 Adjusting the Touch Position The touch panel can be adjusted if the position touched and the operation performed do not match. Accurately touch the mark at the lower left. Accurately touch the mark at the upper right. When the mark at the upper right is touched, the adjustment is completed and the system setup menu screen reappears.

Select the band/ station that you want to store. Hold down preset channel number [ P1 ] - [ P6 ] on which you want to store the channel, for two seconds or more.
27 You cannot operate unless the parking brake is set. Switching the List Each time you touch [ ] or [ ] , the list switches between the TV1 and TV2 bands. Recalling a Preset channel Touch the preset station number [ 1 ] - [ 6 ] for the desired channel.
28 FM/AM T uner Control Function E Station Preset Memory Store the frequency of the station currently being listened to. You can then recall that station with a single touch of a button. Select the band/station that you want to have stored. Hold down preset station number [ 1 ] - [ 6 ] that you want to use for the station, for two seconds or more.
29 Switching to the FM/AM List Screen Touch [ LIST ] to switch to the FM/AM list screen. Switching the Band List Each time you touch [ ] or [ ] , the list switches between the FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM bands. Switching the SNPS and PS Name Each time you touch [ SNPS ] or [ PS ] to the list switches between the SNPS and PS name.
30 FM/AM T uner Control Function B Turning TI function On/Off You can listen to traffic information. If you are listening to discs, they will continue playing until a traffic bulletin is broadcast. Press the [ TI ] button to turn the function on and off.
31 A A Registration of a station as a PTY You can register a station as a program type. Tune your radio to the non-RDS station that you want to register as the program type. Touch either [ ] or [ ] repeatedly to select the type of program lists you want to listen to.

33 Viewing Zoom 1/4 of the image can be zoomed and viewed. Touch [ ZOOM ] to display the zoom control screen. Zooming the image Each time the [ ZOOM ] is touched the image switches between zoom ( ON ) and normal ( OFF ). Scrolling the image When you touch [ @ ], [ # ], [ % ] or [ fi ], the image scrolls in the direction of the touched arrow.
34 DVD/VCD/CD Cont r ol Function to 1/2 times( x 2) to 1/3 times( x 3). • Reverse slow playback is not available with a VCD. Pausing and Restarting Disc Play Touch [ 38 ] to make the disc pause. Touch [ 38 ] again to start play again. The following operation may not be available with certain discs.
35 Track Scan Function Successively play the beginning of each track on a disc until you find the one that you want to listen to. Turning Track Scan Function On/Off Touch [ SCN ] to switch the track scan function on and off. The SCN indicator is displayed when the track scan function is turned on.
36 DVD/VCD/CD Control Function G Selecting the Name or Title Display for Discs Each time you touch [ D ], the display during disc play switches as follows: ▼ Disc name ▼ Disc text ▼ Track text • You can give names to discs through the presetting disc name function.
External Disc Control Function 37 F A Track Scan Function Successively play the beginning of each track on a disc until you find the one that you want to listen to. Turning Track Scan Function On/Off Touch [ SCN ] to switch the track scan function on and off.
38 External Disc control Function L When the disc/track has been selected, play starts. To change the track being heard, touch [ ¢ ]. Another disc/track is selected and played. • Random play is canceled when you eject the disc. • The time needed for random selection depends on the number of discs loaded in the disc magazine.
39 Switching to the Name Set Screen (Function of CD player/ CD changers) Touch [ ] for at least two seconds to switch to the name set screen.(see P.40) You cannot operate unless the parking brake is set. Switching to the Disc List Screen Touch [ LIST ] to switch the disc list screen.
40 Name Set Function Station Name Preset (SNPS) /Disc Name Preset (DNPS) If the cursor is in the desired character input position, go on to step 4. If not touch either [ 2 ] or [ 3 ] to move the cursor to the desired position. Touching [ 2 ] moves the cursor to the left and touching [ 3 ] moves it to the right.

44 Audio Control Function A Adjusting the Fader Levels • Each time you touch [ ](F), the sound in the front channel emphasized. • Each time you touch [ ](R), the sound in the rear channel emphasized. Turning the Loudness On/Off This function amplifies low and high tones when the volume is turned down.
45 Setting the Speaker Type Using this function to set the diameter of the speaker optimizes the sound quality to the speaker diameter. Each time you touch [ SP ] to select the speaker type as follows.

54 Remote Control Function 3 Switching the Audio Source Mode <TV/AUD position> Each time you press the [ SRC ] button to switch the audio source mode. 3 Volume <TV/DVD/AUD position> Each time you press the VOL button to 5 side to increase the volume.
55 3 Pausing and Restarting Disc Play • Press the Joystick to make the disc pause. • Press the Joystick to start play again. 3 Manual Search Forward search Move the Joystick to front side.
56 Installation Accessories The use of any accessories except for those provided might result in damage to the unit. Make sure only to use the accessories shipped with the unit, as shown above.
57 1. To prevent short circuits, remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the · terminal of the battery. 2. Make the proper input and output cable connections for each unit. 3. Connect the wiring harness wires in the following order: ground, battery, ignition.

61 When two CD/MD changers are interconnected The disc changers are distinguished by source select disc-changer 1 and disc-changer 2. If the relevant connected device has a PROTOCOL SWITCH or O-N SWITCH, be sure to set the switch to “N”.
62 Installation Attach the installation brackets to the sides of the hideaway unit using the sems bolts (M4 × 8 mm). Use the tapping screw (ø4 × 16 mm) to secure the hideaway unit to the audio board.
63 Removing Monitor Unit Removing the Hard Rubber Frame ■ Accessory J Engage the catch pins on the removal tool and remove the two locks on the lower level. Lower the frame and pull it forward as shown in the figure. When the lower level is removed, remove the upper two locations.
64 Installation Installing the Antenna Units • Attach the antenna to the inner glass surface of the rear window using double-sided tape. Carefully check the installation location as the tape can only be stuck on once. • If the surface temperature of the glass of the rear window is low, warm it by turning on the power of the rear defogger.

The disc control mode cannot be selected. No wire has been connected to the disc changer input terminal on the unit.
