When in the Dolby 3 Stereo mode , surround information is redirected to the front left and right speakers.

Although a full set of speakers (front left and right, center , surround left and right, and a subw oofer) is required for true Dolby Digital surround sound, this receiv er lets you enjoy Dolby Digital program sources , even if you connect few er speakers.
