24 Before firs t shooting • Wipe away ex cess oil from the sur face of the barreled action and the r ifle. • Pull a cleaning patch through the barrel from the chamber towards the muzzle sev eral times. Cocking, loading and saf ety operation • Degrease the bolt and the interior of t he barrel without leaving lint.
25 Unloading For safety reasons the rifle must immediatel y be unloaded if you intend to stop shooting. Remo ve the mag azine and open the bolt. This will eject the car tridge. Please also see safety instructions f or the handling of rifles and firearms.

28 Double set hunting trigger The models of the ser ies 1 400 ST and 1 500 ST are equipped with a double set hunting trigger. The purpose of this trigger is to fire the shot with a minimum of trigg er pressure (hair trigger).
