Chapter 8. Using the Script Menu Introduction The sequence of tests that is run is determined by one of 10 possible scripts, which define the tests to be run. Scripts 1 and 2 are preconfigured and the test s cannot be altered. Scripts 3 to 10 are unlocked by default but can be locked and passw ord protected.
MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu Accessing the Script Menu To access the script menu: 1. Press the hard key. The Script menu is displayed. The menu shows all of the possible tests. A symbol is shown to the left of each test name, the meanings of which are detailed below.

Using the Script Menu MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Initial Carrier Test (Standard Mode) The initial carrier test performs a frequency accuracy test on a DH1 pseudo random data packet. (PRBS 9) This test can be performed using either the loopback test control or the TX test control.
MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu 4. Choose “Number of packets”. 5. Enter the number of packets using the keypad. 6. Choose “Hopping”. 7. Press the key to switch between ON and OFF. If you choose O N, choose Hopping test mode and press the key to switch between All and Any.

MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu Carrier Drift Test (Standard Mode) The carrier drift test performs a frequency dri ft measurement over the length of the packet received. The test can be carried out for each of the supported packet types with either hopping on or hopping off.

Using the Script Menu MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Single Slot Sensitivity Test (Standard Mode) For a single slot sensitivi ty measurement the MT8850A/MT8852A transmits DH1 packets with a pseudo random payload (PRBS 9) to the EUT at a minimum power level.

Y ou can also switch the dirty transmitter On, Off, or On and Off. When the Dirty transmi tter is switched on you can edit the Dirty parameter table.

Using the Script Menu MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Modulation Index Test (Standard Mode) This test measures the modulation characteristics on the EUT output for each of the frequency ranges selected (LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH). The MT8850A/MT8852A can perform the test using either loopback test controls or TX test controls.
MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu 10. Choose “Toggle Payload” and select either “Continuous” or “Once” as detailed below. Continuous: This is the default setting in which, to comply with the RF test specification, the payload is changed after each packet measured.

MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu Maximum Input Pow er Test (Standard Mode) For the EUT maximum input power test the MT8850A/MT8852A transmits a pseudo random payload (PRBS 9) DH1 data packet to the EUT so that the EUT receives the signal at a power level of -20 dBm.

To select or deselect a test, choose the test and press the key. 11. To change a frequency, choose the frequency, press the key , enter the value using the keypad and press the [Enter] soft key.
MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu Testing in Single Payload Script Mode In single payload mode the MT8850A/MT8852A sends a single test control to put the EUT into the specified state, and no further test controls are sent.
Using the Script Menu MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Initial Carrier Test (Single Payload Mode) The initial carrier test performs a frequency accuracy test on a DH1 pseudo random data packet. (PRBS 9) This test can be performed using either the loopback test control or the TX test control.
