Introduction Y our Sirius satellit e antenna, appro ved by Sirius Satellit e Radio, Inc., has been spe- cially designed to receiv e signals from Sirius' three sat ellites and Sirius' network of ground-based "repeat er" transmitters.
Mechanical data: Electrical data: General Instructions Satellit e antennas are e xtremely sensitive and finely specified to facilitat e reception of satellit e signals under a variety of conditions across the whole of North America.
Shor tening the ant enna "tail" The antenna module is supplied with a 6 inch tail. F or vehicles with flat r oofs (SUVs, Mini-vans) and f or conv er tibles, it is possible to shorten the tail by up t o 2 inches.
Inst alling on Sedans The antenna module should be locat ed along the centerline of the r oof, at least 4 inches from the rear windo w . Figure 7: Installed antenna The antenna cables should be tuck ed and routed underneath the rubber molding around the rear windo w and into the trunk.

7 . If there is no suitable cable channel, the cable may be rout ed directly from the window molding to the right or left corner of the trunk. Figure 15: Cable routing along the trunk rubber molding It may be necessary to remov e the plastic housings from the antenna connectors in order t o feed the cables thr ough narrow openings.
Inst alling on Conv er tibles On conv er tibles the antenna module should be locat ed on the centerline of the trunk appro ximately 6 inches fr om the rear window . W ARNING: Mounting the antenna on the trunk will only work with convertibles. For all other types of v ehicles mount the antenna on the roof.
3. Drill a small hole or cut a gap into the rubber slee ve and lead the cable through the interior trim t o the receiver . Figure 21: Entering the interior through the cable channel Note: Man y convertibles have com posite trunk lids. In such cases it will be necessary to creat e a metal "ground plane".
Inst alling on SUVs, Miniv ans and 5-Door V ehicles The antenna module should be locat ed on the centerline of the r oof, not less than 4 inches from the gap betw een the roof and tailgat e: Figure 23.
