USING THE COOKTOP LOCKOUT The cooktop lock prevents unintended use of the cooktop burners by shutting off the gas flow to the burners. NOTES: • Turn off all burners first. • The cooktop will remain locked after a power failure if it was locked before the power failure.
USING THE ELECTRONIC KITCHEN TIMER The kitchen timer allows you to monitor time for cooking and other tasks, It does not start or stop the oven. See the "Using the Timed Oven Control" sec- tion (p.21) to start and stop the oven automatically.
STARTING/CANCELING A FUNCTION After setting a function, you must press START/ ENTER to start the function. If you do not press START/ENTER within 5 seconds of setting, "START?" will show on the display as a reminder. If you do not press START/ENTER within 5 minutes of setting, the time of day will appear.

READJUSTING THE OVEN TEMPERATURE CONTROL (OPTIONAL) Although your new oven is properly adjusted to provide accurate temperatures, it may cook faster or slower than your old oven. If you are not satisfied with the baking/roasting results, you can change the temperature calibration by following the steps below.
BROILING For best results, do not preheat when broiling unless your recipe recommends it. 1. Place the STURDIGLIDE TM rack so that the surface of the food is no less than 3 inches away from the broil burner. See "Broiling guidelines," pp. 19, 20.
BROILING contd,) Precision broiling Use precision broiling if your food is cooking too fast or if you want your food to broil slower from the start. The lower the temperature, the slower the cooking. Thicker cuts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and poultry may cook better if you use lower broiling temperatures.
BROILING (contd.) Br0iling guidelines Recommended rack positions are numbered from the bottom (1) to the top (5). For best results, place food 3 inches or more from the broil burner. Times are guidelines only and may need to be adjusted for individual tastes.
USING THE TIMED OVEN CONTROL Food Poisoning Hazard Do not let food sit in oven more than one hour before or after cooking. Doing so can result in food poisoning or sickness. The Timed Oven control will turn the oven on at a set time of day, cook for a set length of time, then shut off automatically when programmed.

HOW THE CYCLE WORKS The SELECT CLEAN TM Serf-Cleaning cycle uses temperatures much hotter than normal oven use to break up and burn away soil and grease. SELECT CLEAN will set the clean time automatically, once you choose the soil level. You can choose SoilL (light soil), SoilA (average soil) or SoilH (heavy soil).

Do not remove the pins while the door is removed from the range. 3. Grasp the door on the sides with your fingers on the front of the door and your thumbs on the inside surface.

Troubleshooting Most cooking problems are caused by little things you can find and fix without tools of any kind.
