9 DISHWASHER LOADING Loadin g Suggest ions ■ Remove leftover food, bones, toothpicks and other h ard items from the dishes . T o conse rve water and energy and save time, i t is not neces sary to rinse di shes before putt ing them into the dish washer .
10 Utensil basket Use thi s extra ca pacity b asket in th e back of the top rack to hold spatul as, wooden sp oons, and simil ar items. Cup shelves Fold down the extra shelf on the left-hand or right-hand side of the top rack to hold addi tional cups, stemware or long items such as ut ensi ls and spat ulas.

14 How much detergent to use ■ The amount of deter gent to use depends on the soil level of your dis hes, har dness of yo ur water , and the ty pe of detergent. If you use too littl e, dishes will not be clean. If you use too much in soft water , gl assware will etch .

18 Lock On Use the Lock On to prevent u nintended use of the d ishwasher between cyc les. When Lock On is li t, all but tons are disabled. NOTE : The dishwas her door can be opened whi le the controls are locked. T o turn on the Lock Press and hold HEA TED DRY for 4 seconds.
