B efo re us i ng your d ishwasher fo r the first t i me: T he water soften er must be s et manual ly, us i ng t he w ater hardne ss dial. T he water softe ner is desi gned to remov e mi ne ra ls and salts fr om the wat e r, wh i ch would have a det r iment al o r ad v erse effe ct o n the operat ion of t h e applian ce.
It i s normal for a smal l amoun t of water to come ou t of the sal t container . 1. The sal t con t ainer mu st only be r efille d whe n the salt w arning lig h t in th e control p anel comes on. Depending on how well the salt dissolves, the salt warning l ight may still b e on eve n though the sal t c o nt ai n er i s fill ed.
6 R INS E AID DISPENSER To open the dispenser, turn the cap to the " open" (le ft) a rrow an d lif t it out . Pour the rinse aid into t he di s pense r, being carefu l not to overf ill. Replace the ca p by i nserting it a li gned with "open " a rrow and turning i t to t he cl osed (right) a rrow.
