6 Getting Start ed High Pictur e Quality The camera unit of this product emplo ys a 1,250,000-pixel CCD (1/3") which enables high quality video surveillance. Support for Dual Stream Simultaneous distribution of JPEG and MPEG4 images is possible .

8 Getting Start ed Maintenance and lo cati on of use 䢇 This product is intended for use indoors. Make sure that you use a housing etc., when using it outdoors. 䢇 Do not place this product in the following environments. Otherwise, it may malfunction or break down.
9 Others 䢇 The cable stopper of the alarm terminal may come off in some cases. When mounting the cables, make sure to do so carefully. 䢇 If a high luminance object (such as a lamp) is shot, a white smear may appear at the upper and lower ends of this object on the screen .
10 Getting Start ed Front / Bottom / Si de A Back Focus Adjustment Ri ng This ring is used for adjusting the back focus . T o operate , loosen the H back focus f astening screw b y tur ning it in the anti-clockwise direction, and turn the screw in the cloc kwise direction to fasten after oper ation is complete.
11 Side J [MONITOR OUT] Monito r Output Selection Switch Use this switch to select the a vailability of output from the N [MONITOR OUT] terminal as well as the signal system.( A P age 12) NTSC : Outputs NTSC signals. OFF : No output. Select this value when distributing images to the networ k.
12 Getting Start ed Rear N [MONITOR OUT ] Monitor Video Signa l Output Terminal (RCA) This is an output ter minal for composite video signals (1 V (p-p), output impedance of 75 K ). Use this ter minal to connect to devices such as a video monitor . This ter minal is used for adjusting the camera angle during installation.
13 Surveillance Using Built-in View er VN-X35U comes with Built-in JPEG/MPEG4 Viewer and A udio Monitor . JPEG images and MPEG4 images of VN-X35U can be monitored using Built-in Viewer on the PC . JPEG images that are cu rrently displayed can also be captured in the computer’ s hard disk.
14 Getting Start ed Input audio to computer / output audio from computer Connect the mini jack R 3.5 stereo cable to the [A UDIO IN/OUT] terminal. Connect an external microphone to the R ch of the mini jack R 3.5 stereo cable. Y ou can now monitor audio sound that has been pick ed up such as on a computer .
15 Step 1 Connection/Installation ( A Page 1 6) T After adjusting the camera angle using the [MONITOR OUT] terminal, set the [MONITOR OUT] switch to A OFF B . Images are not distributed to the network when A NTSC B or A PAL B is selected. After chan ging the [MONITOR OUT] switch setting, press the Reset button to reboot the camera.
16 Connection / Insta llation Note: ● Make use of a megapixel lens. 1. Check th e mounting method of the lens to be used before mountin g ● The mount method used for VN-X35U is CS mount. ● Make use of the values listed in the table below for the dimensions of the lens mount (a) indicated in the following diagram.
17 Electricity can be supplied to this product either by connecting to the A C 24 V power supply or using the P oE ( A P age 18). 䢇 When power is suppl ied to this product, the [STATUS] indicator at the side l ights up. The indicator lights up in orange color during startup, and switches to green c olor after startup is complete.
18 Connection / Insta llation ● In a system where multiple unit s of VN-X35U are used, turn on the power of only one unit to configure the IP address settings using the Internet Explorer. Upon doing so, turn on th e power of the second unit and configure accordingly.
19 Make use of this terminal for camera angle adjustment during installation or focus adjustment in the F ocus Assist mode. Connect it to de vices such as a vi deo monitor using a video cable (RCA). Memo: ● It is convenient to adjust focus using focus assist mode.
20 Connection / Insta llation Connect the alar m input/output ter minals with external de vices, such as a sensor or buzz er . Plug/Unplug the cable while pressing the button as shown in the diagr am below . Note: ● Noises from an exter nal source may cause the camera to malfunction even when the cable used is within 50 m.
21 ● Use the screw hole on the camera mounting brack et to mount this camera to a fix er or rotating platform. Mount the fall prevention w ire using the black screw at the rear of the camera unit.
22 Connection / Insta llation This product comes with an inner tripod base at the bottom surface . Y ou can use the inner tripod base by removing the camera mounting br acket that is attached to the bottom surface . Mount this product to the miniature housing using the screw hole of the inner tr ipod base.
23 Inner Tripod Base Mounti ng Screw Make use of 1/4-20UNC screw . The length of the mounting screw shall be between 6 mm to 7 mm from the mounting surface . Note: ● Using a screw with a length longer than specified may damage the internal parts of the camera, while using a length shorter than specified may cause the camera to fall off.
24 Connection / Insta llation The accuracy of f ocus adjustment is improved when the iris of auto ir is lens is open. 1. Set the [MONITOR OUT ] selection switch to NTSC or PAL 2.
25 The maximum number of distributions varies with the bit rate settings as well as the client’ s requested frame rate. Up to 20 streams can be distributed (including mu lticast).
26 Connection / Insta llation Insufficient netwo rk bandwidth When there is insufficient bandwidth, the number of JPEG frames (frame rate) that the client can acquire will decrease. Dela y will also occur in the distribution of images. In the case of MPEG4, noise interference ma y occur and playback ma y f ail.
27 Network Settings Setting the IP ad dress for VN-X35U There are two methods to set the IP address for VN-X35U as fo llows. (A) Assigning an IP address to VN-X35U from the DHCP server (B) Assigning a.

49 A Duplex Mode F or setting the audio transmission method. When half duplex is selected, audio sent to computers from th e camera is muted when audio is transmitted from a computer to the camera.
