6 Getting Started Front A [OPERA TE] Button/Indicator Switches operation on or off . Pr ess the b utton to tur n operation A ON B and hold down the button to turn operation A OFF B . The indicator blinks while the recorder is starting up or shutting down.
7 When in the recording control m ode, press and hold this button to e xit the recording control mode. M em o : ● The manual recording mode e xecutes recording from all cameras regardless of the sett ings in th e [Camera Record Setting]. Recording is carried out in accordance with the frame rate selected in [Camera Record Setting].

M em o : ● Be sure to press and hold down the [OPERA TE] button on the front panel to shut do wn the system before s witching off the power supply . 10 Getting Started Rear I/O Te rminals Use the supplied rac k mount brack et to mount VR-N1600U/E to the EIA rac k. 1 Mount the rac k mount brac ket using screw ( 1) ● Use the 4 screws (M4 x 10 mm) supplied to f asten VR-N1600U/E at the two sides. 2 Remove scre ws B of the foot (4 pc s) at the bottom ● Remov e the foot.
11 Preparation The f ollowing operations are possible with this system. ● Sur veillance (liv e imag e, recording and pla yback) by co nnecting up to 16 cameras ● Checking recorded images on the VGA monitor ● Recording/Playing sound ● Alarm recording ● Remote sur veillance using PCs M em o : ● Connect LAN1 to the camera network.
12 Preparation No te : ● Do not connect LAN1 to the inter net. If the internet is b usy or the relay equipment f ails, you ma y not be able to sa ve impor tant camera images. T o maintain full recording capacity , it is recommended that a dedicated ne twork be used.
13 Selecting a Language The [Language Setti ng] screen appears when you start up VR-N1600U/E for the first time. Select the language to use using the steps below .
