2 ENGLISH How to reset your unit Press the reset button on the control panel using a ball-point pen or a similar tool. This will reset the b uilt-in microcomputer . Y our preset adjustments—such as pr eset channels or sound adjustments—will also be erased.
3 ENGLISH For safety .... • Do not raise the volume le vel too much, as this will block outside sounds, making driving dangerous. • Stop the car before performing any complicated operations.

5 ENGLISH 3 2 1 Preparation (Remote Controller — RM-RK300) WARNINGS on the battery: • Store the battery in a place where children cannot reach. If a child accidentally swallows the battery , consult a doctor immediately . • Do not recharge, short, disassemble, or heat the battery or dispose of it in a fire.

7 ENGLISH 1 0 (eject) / (angle) button • Open/close the control panel (and eject the disc, if any , when opened). • Adjust the control panel angle if held then pressed. 2 Remote sensor DO NO T expose the remote sensor on the control panel to strong light (direct sunlight or artificial lighting).
8 ENGLISH 3 Adjust the volume 4 Select the DSP mode and sound mode as you want • For details, see pages 23 to 28. T o drop the volume in a moment (A TT): T o restore the sound , press it again. T o turn off the power: CAUTION on Volume Setting: Discs produce very little noise compared with other sources.

13 ENGLISH HD Hold T o search for HD Radio stations only — HD-Search 1 While listening to any FM/AM broadcast... 2 Select either “ UP ” or “ DO WN. ” UP: T o search for the HD Radio stations from the lower to higher frequencies. DO WN: T o search for the HD Radio stations from the higher to lo wer frequencies.

15 ENGLISH Storing stations in memory Y ou can preset any 6 stations for each band. FM station automatic presetting — SSM (Strong-station Sequential Memory) Y ou can automatically store 6 stations from both con ventional FM stations and HD Radio FM stations.

25 ENGLISH Making sound natural This unit is equipped with two features to make sound natural — CC Con verter and BBE Digital. T o activate Compression Compensative (CC) Converter CC Con v erter eliminates jitter and ripples, achie ving a drastic reduction in digital distortion.
26 ENGLISH Selecting preset sound modes — EQ Y ou can select a sound mode suitable to the music genre. A vailable sound modes: • Hard Rock / R&B / Pop / J azz / Dance / Country / Reggae / Classic • User 1 / User 2 / User 3 • Flat (T o cancel the sound mode) 1 While playing any source.
27 ENGLISH Sound Adjustments — Preference Settings Setting the basic sound selection menu — SEL 1 While playing any source... The Main Menu appears on the display . 2 Move the cursor to “ SEL ” 3 Enter the SEL Menu 4 Select a setting item When selecting “ Sub Out ” and “ Fad/Bal, ” press OK to enter submenu.
28 ENGLISH T o adjust fader and balance — Fad/Bal: Adjust fader — speaker output balance between the front and rear speakers. • Upmost — front only • Do wnmost — rear only Adjust the balance — speaker output balance between the left and right speakers.
29 ENGLISH Graphic Displays Basic procedure Bef ore starting the f ollowing pr ocedure, prepar e a CD-R inc luding still images (pictures) and animations (mo vies). • W ith Image Con verter Color included in the supplied CD-R OM, you can create your own ima ges and animations.
30 ENGLISH The folder list appears. • Only the folders including the selected file type <jcl> or <jca> are sho wn. 3 Select (highlight) a folder w here the f ile you w ant is located. • If a disc includes more than 6 folders, you can also display the other lists of folders by pressing 4 / ¢ ( / ).

38 ENGLISH Assigning titles to the sources Y ou can assign titles to 30 station frequencies, 40 CDs (both in this unit and in the CD changer), and the exter nal component. Source Maximum number Station frequencies : 16 characters CDs : 32 characters External component : 16 characters • Y ou cannot assign a title to CD T ext, MP3, and WMA discs.
39 ENGLISH Changing the control panel angle Y ou can change the angle of the control panel. 1 The current angle le vel is sho wn. 2 Detaching the control panel • When detaching and attaching the control panel, be careful not to damage the connectors.
40 ENGLISH W ith JVC MP3-compatible CD changer connected, you can play back your original CD-Rs and CD-R Ws recorded either in audio CD format or in MP3 format. 1 Select CD changer • If you have changed the “ EXT Input ” setting to “ Sirius ” (see page 37), you cannot select “ CD-CH.
41 ENGLISH • Display indications when the current disc is an audio CD or a CD T ext: • Display indications when the current disc is an MP3 disc: It is recommended to use the JVC MP3-compatible CD changer with y our unit. • Y ou can also connect the CH-X series CD changer s (except CH-X99 and CH-X100).
