13 1 IMPRESSA C9 The new entry level model in the One T ouch Cappuccino league is sure to please all cappucino fans with its simple ‘touch of a button’ function without having to mov e the cup.
14 1 IMPRESSA C9 Z Height -adjustable coffee spout : The height of the coff ee spout, which can be adjusted within a r ange of 65 to 111 mm, can be adapted to all cup siz es on a continuous scale. This pre- vents coffee splashing on the machine and is y our guarant ee for a rich, thick crema.

16 2 Preparing and using your IMPRESS A for the first time If the machine is oper ated with a defective pow er cable, there is a danger of electric shock. T Ne ver use a mac hine which has a defective pow er cable. Precondition : The w ater tank and bean container are full.
17 2 Preparing and using your IMPRESS A for the first time E When a coffee speciality has been prepared for the first time, it is possible that FILL BEANS is shown on the displa y as the grinder has not yet been complet ely filled with coffee beans. In this case prepare another coffee speciality .
18 2 Preparing and using your IMPRESS A for the first time T Plac e a receptacle (at least 500 ml) under the frother . c T Press the maintenance button. FILTER RINSING . W ater will flow out of the frother . E Y ou can interrupt rinsing of the filter at any time by pressing any button.

21 2 Preparing and using your IMPRESS A for the first time c T Press the maintenance button. RINSING appears on the display , and the right coff ee spout is rinsed. CAPPUCCINO RINSING Cappuccino rinsing start s, and then stops automatically . The IMPRESSA is swit ched off (standby), and the indicator light lights up.

32 4 Preparation at the touch of a button Y ou can choose a second coffee blend with the filler funnel for pre- ground coffee . E Never add more than two le vel measuring spoons of pre- ground coffee . E Use pre-ground coffee which is not ground too finely .

35 5 Permanent settings in programming mode With the BUTTONS programme it em you can enter individual set - tings for all coffee and milk spec ialities as well as hot w ater . The following permanent settings can be entered f or coffee and milk specialities and hot w ater: Permanent settings in progr amming mode alwa ys follow the same model.
36 5 Permanent settings in programming mode E Next selec t the product button for which you w ould like to make settings. No product is prepared durin g this procedure . E T o change a setting for a double product, press the corre- sponding button twice within a period of two seconds.
37 5 Permanent settings in programming mode Y ou can reset the v alues of all produc ts individually to the works set - ting. Example : Proceed as f ollows to reset the v alues of 1 espresso and 2 espressi to the works setting. Precondition : The IMPRESS A must be switched off (standby).
38 5 Permanent settings in programming mode g T T urn the R otar y Switch until EXIT is displa yed. k T Press the Rotar y Switc h to exit programming mode . READY T C lose the co ver of the R otar y Switch. If the machine is disconnected from the mains, the time has to be reset.

40 5 Permanent settings in programming mode Y ou can change the unit of the amount of w ater from ‘ml’ to ‘ oz’ and the time format to ‘24 HRS’ or ‘ AM/PM’ . Example : T o change the unit for the amount of w ater from ML to OZ , proceed as follo ws.

43 6 Maintenance k T Press the Rotar y Switc h to initiate the rinse oper ation. RINSING Rinsing stops automatically and y our IMPRESS A is then ready for use . T C lose the co ver of the R otar y Switch. E After 50 litres of water ha ve flow ed through, or after t wo months, the filter will cease to w ork.
44 6 Maintenance E Y ou can inte rrup t fil ter rinsin g at any time. T o do this, press any button. E The wat er may be slightly discoloured. This is not harmful to health and does not affect the taste. Filter rinsing stops automatically after approx.
45 6 Maintenance Precondition : READY / CLEAN is displa yed and the maintenance button c lights up. c T Press the maintenance button. EMPTY TRAY T Empty the drip tra y and coffee grounds c ontainer and put them back into the machine . PRESS RINSE , the maintenance button c lights up.
46 6 Maintenance The IMPRESSA builds up depo sits of limescale over time and auto- matically prompts you to descale it when necessary. The degree of calcification depends on the degree of hardness of your w ater . If the descaling agent comes into contact with the skin or eyes, this can cause irritation.
47 6 Maintenance T Complet ely dissolve the c ontents of one blister (3 JURA des- caling tablet s) in a container that holds 500 ml of water . This may take se ver al minutes. T P our the solution into the empty water tank and insert it in the machine .
48 6 Maintenance Y ou can initiate the ‘Descaling the machine’ operation manually . Precondition : READY is display ed and the filter is not activated. T Open the c over of the R otar y Switc h. k T Keep the R otar y Switch pressed until RINSE appears.
