Thank you for purchasing a JL Audio amplifier for your automotive sound system. Your amplifier has been designed and manufactured to exacting standards in or der to ensure years of musical enjoyment in your vehicle.
PLANNING Y OUR INST ALLA TION It is impor tant that you take the time to read this manual and that you plan out y our installation carefully . The following are some considerations that you m ust take into account when planning your installation.
PO WER CONNECTIONS Before installing the amplifier , disconnect the negative (ground) wire from the vehicle's batter y . This will prevent accidental damage to the system, the vehicle and y our body during installation. The e4300's “+12 VDC” and “Ground” connections are designed to accept 8 A WG - 4 A WG po wer wire .
AMPLIFIER CONTROLS Input Sensitivity These controls, labeled “Input Sens. ” ,can be used to match the source unit's output voltage(s) to each input stage of the e4300 for maximum clean output. Rotating an “Input Sens. ” control clockwise will result in higher sensitivity (louder for a given input voltage).
SPEAKER OUTPUTS The e4300’ s speaker outputs are designed to accept 8 AWG - 16 A WG wire . Each pair of the e4300’ s channels are designed to deliver pow er into speaker loads equal to or greater that 2 Ω when using a “stereo” configuration and speaker loads equal to or greater than 4 Ω when using a “br idged” conf iguration.
SY STEM CONFIGURA TIONS The e4300 is a flexible amplif ier , well-suited for a multitude of system conf igurations. In this section, the most likely conf igurations are explained in detail.
