Thank you for purchasing a JL Audio amplifier for your automotive sound system. Your amplifier has been designed and manufactured to exacting standards in or der to ensure years of musical enjoyment in your vehicle.
PLANNING Y OUR INST ALLA TION It is impor tant that you take the time to read this manual and that you plan out y our installation carefully . The following are some considerations that you m ust take into account when planning your installation.
PO WER CONNECTIONS Before installing the amplifier , disconnect the negative (ground) wire from the vehicle's batter y . This will prevent accidental damage to the system, the vehicle and y our body during installation. The 300/2's “+12 VDC” and “Ground” connections are designed to accept 8 - 4 AWG power wire.
INPUT SECTION The 300/2 has one input section, which contains a pair of RC A-type input jacks, an “Input V oltage” switch and an “Input Sens. ” rotar y control. 1) Input V oltage Range: A wide r ange of signal input voltages can be accommodated by the 300/2's input section (200mV – 8V).
PREAMP OUTPUT SECTION The 300/2 incorpor ates a flexible preamp output section, so that additional amplifier s can be added to the system. This pre-amp output can be configured three different ways using the switch labeled “Output Mode” in the “Preamp Output Section” .
SER VICING Y OUR JL AUDIO AMPLIFIER If your amplif ier fails or malfunctions, please return it to your authorized JL Audio dealer so that it may be sent in to JL Audio for ser vice . There are no user ser viceable par ts or fuses inside the amplifier .
APPENDIX B: Input Sensitivity Lev el Setting JL Audio amplifier s utilizing the Regulated Intelligent P ow er Supply (R.I.P .S.) allow deliver y of their rated power when connected to any load impedance from 1.5 - 4 Ω per channel (3 - 8 Ω bridged) and when connected to a char ging system with any voltage from 11 - 14.
