MP6212 1 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of the Jensen MP6212 Mobile Receiver . It’s a good idea to read all of the instructions before beginning the insta llation. We re commend having your Jensen MP6212 installed by a reputable installation sho p.
MP6212 2 INSTALLATION This unit is designed for in st allation in cars, trucks and vans with an existing radio opening. In many cases, a spec ial installation kit will be required to mount the r adio to the dashboar d. Thes e kits are available at electronics supply stores and car stereo spec ialty shop s.
MP6212 3 Using the Mounting Sleeve 1. Slide the mounting sleeve of f the chassis. If it is locked into position, use the removal tools (supplied) to disengage it.
MP6212 4 ISO Installation This unit has threade d holes in the chassis side panels which may be used with the original factory mounting bracket s of some vehicles to mount the radio to the dashboard. Please consult with your local car stereo shop for assi stance on this type of installation.
MP6212 5 WIRING NOTE: The amplifier in this radio is only de signed for use with four speakers. Never combin e (bridge) outputs for use with two speakers . Never ground negative spe aker leads to chassis groun d. Failure to wire exactly as shown may cause electrical damage to th e radio.
MP6212 6 F RONT P ANEL RELEASE The front panel rele ase button (4) releas es the mech anism that ho lds the front panel to the chassis. Detaching the Front Panel T o detach the fro nt panel, first pr ess the front pane l release button to release the lef t side of the p anel.
MP6212 7 OPERATION Power Press the power bu tton (2) to turn the unit on. Press and hold the power button again to turn the unit off. NOTE: LCD panels may tak e longer to respond when subjected to cold temperatures for an ext ended period of time. In addition, t he visibility of the numbers on the LCD may decrease slightly .
MP6212 8 Equalizer Selector The equalizer function applie s preset sound ef fects to the unit’ s audio output sign al. Press EQ (16) to step through the following equalizer op tions: “ROCK”, “HIP-H OP”, “DANCE”, and “EQ OFF”.
MP6212 9 T UNER OPERATION The MP6212 allows you to receive c hannels in U.S.A. or EUROPE mode. See “Frequency S pacing” on p age 8 to learn how to change the tun er options. Select a Band Press the BAND button (3) to change between th ree FM and two AM bands.

MP6212 12 MP3/WMA OPERATION MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files are digital au dio files that are compressed to a llow more files on a single CD. This unit can play MP3/WMA directly from files cont ained on a CD-R/RW using the buttons on the receiver (or optional r emote contro l) as described below .
MP6212 13 MP3 Playing Order When selected for play , files and fold ers (Folder Search, File Search or Folder Select) are accessed in the orde r they were written by the CD writer . As a result, the order in which they are expected to be played may not match the orde r in which they are actu ally played.
MP6212 14 Navigating Folders Press the folder UP (21) butt on (also the “5” button) to advance 10 songs. Press the folder DN (20) button (also th e “6” butto n) to move 1 0 songs in reverse. Press and hold the folder UP button to skip to the next folder or the folder DN button to return to the previous folder .
MP6212 15 SATELLITE RADIO OPERATION Listeners can subscribe to XM ® Radio on the W e b by visiting www .xmradio.com, or by calling (800) 967-2346. Cu stomers should have their Radio ID ready (see “Displayin g the Identification (ID) Code”). Customers can receive a limited number of free-to-air channels without activati on.
