Surface Cooking Units: • Glazed cooking utensils – Only certain types of glass, gl ass/ceramic, cer amic, earthenware, or other glazed utensils are suitable for range-top servic e without breaking due to the sudden change in temper ature.
5 COOK-TOP USE SETTING SURFACE CONTROL S How to Operate the Surface Elements (C oil Surface Elements Cook-top M odels) • Place cooking utensil on the surface element. • Push in and turn the surface control knob in either direct ion to the desired setting.
6 COIL ELEMENTS AND BURNE R BOWLS (Co il Surface Elements Cook-top Models) • Surface units should be level for optim al cooking results. Drip bowls, when clean, reflect heat back to the cookware. They also help catch spills. • Cookware should have flat bottoms that make good cont act with the entire surface unit.
7 OVEN USE BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTR OL Oven Vent Location (Coil Surf ace Elements Co ok-top Models) • The oven vent is located under the righ t rear sur face unit. When the oven is on, warm air flows through the righ t rear element. This venting is necessary for proper ai r circulation in the oven and good baking results.
8 HOW TO OPERATE THE OVEN NOTE The oven indicator light will glow when there is electric power to the bake element. When the oven temperature setting is reached, the indicator light will go o ff. It lights up again when the power comes back on the bake element.
9 GENERAL CARE AND CLEANING WARNING Before cleaning, make sure all controls are OFF and the oven and cook-top are cool. Always follow label instructions on cleaning produc ts. Soap, water, and a soft cloth or sponge are su ggested first unless otherwise note d.
10 Lift Up Cook-top (Coil Surface Elements Models) • The cook-top can be lifted up for easier c leaning. The entire cook-top may be lifted up and supported in the up position. • The surface units do not need to be re moved; however, you may remove one to make raising the cook-top easier.
11 To clean the inside of the door: • Soap and water will normally do the job. Heavy sp attering or spillovers may require cleaning with a mild abrasive cleaner. • Soap-filled, steel wool pads may also be used. To clean the outside of the doo r: • Use soap and water to thoroughly cl ean the top, sides and front of the oven door.
