6 Contr olling Sewing Speed Speed control slider Sewing speed can be v aried according to your se wing needs with the speed control slider . q To increase se wing speed, slide it to the right. w To decrease se wing speed, slide it to the left. Foot contr ol Sewing speed is v aried by the f oot control.
7 When stitches D1, D2, 8, 9 Mode 1, D01, D02, 08, 09 Mode 2 and 01, 02 Mode 3 are selected, the machine will immediately sew loc king stitches when the Auto- lock b utton is pressed, then automatically stop . When se wing any other stitches, the machine will sew loc king stitches at the end of the current patter n and automatically stop .
8 7 6 Press this button after finishing se wing and the machine will trim the threads. The LED signal blinks while cutting the threads . 7 Thread Cutter Signal 6 Thread cutter button NO TES: The auto thread cutter will work well with normal sewing threads #30 or finer .
9 Mode button (See pa ge 26) Press this button to select the desired mode . Letter style button (See pa ge 74) Press this button to change the letter style of monog ram. Memory/recall button (See pages 33, 82) Press this button to register or recall progr ammed pattern combinations.
10 A uto thread cutter button (See pages 52, 76) Press this button after the last memorized pattern and the machine will automatically trim the threads when sewing is finished. Clear button (See pa ge 77) Press this button to delete a pattern from programmed pattern combination.
11 1 2 5 1 2 3 3 4 Raising and Lowering the Presser Foot The presser f oot lifter raises and low ers the presser f oot. Y ou can raise the presser f oot higher than the nor mal up position. This allows f or setting the dual f eed de vice and helps you to place thic k f abrics under it.

F or an ideal zigzag stitch, the bobbin thread does not show on the right side of the f abric, and the needle thread shows slightly on the wrong side of the f abric.

31 Changing sewing direction: Stop the machine a f ew stitches bef ore the end of a seam. Press the up/down needle b utton a f ew times until the needle f alls on the end of the seam. Raise the presser f oot. Pivot the f abr ic around the needle to change the se wing direction as desired.

Press the right side of the button (+ sign) to mov e the needle bar to the right. Press the left side of the button ( – sign) to mo v e the needle bar to the left.

45 Angle scale on the needle plate Y ou can easily seam patchwork pieces at the desired angles without marking, by using the unique angle scales on the needle plate. The angle scales are marked at 45, 60, 90 and 120 degrees . Place the patchwork pieces right sides together .

49 Buttonholes V ariety of buttonholes 14 Sensor (Square) BH This square buttonhole is widely used on medium to hea vy w eight f abrics. The b uttonhole size is automatically determined by placing a button in the f oot.
50 Buttonholes 14 and 16 to 20 are sensor buttonholes . The size of a b uttonhole is automatically set by placing a button in the rear of automatic b uttonhole f oot R. The button holder of the f oot tak es a button siz e of 0.5 cm (3/16 ”) to 2.5 cm (1”) in diameter .

63 Eyelet Machine Setting P attern: 23 (Mode 3) Thread tension:1-4 Presser f oot: Satin Stitch f oot F F oot pressure: 3 The ey elet is used f or belt holes etc. To sew Depress the f oot control to sew . The machine will sew an e yelet and stop automatically when completed.
64 Blind Hem Machine Settings P attern: 06 (Mode 3) Thread tension: 1-4 Presser f oot: Blind Hem f oot G F oot pressure: 3 Select patter n 07 f or wov en fabrics or pattern 05 for elastic f abrics. NO TE: The stitch width of patter ns 06 and 07can not be changed, b ut the needle drop position will mo ve .
65 Changing needle drop position Press the stitch width adjusting button. The LCD screen shows the left needle position from the guide in millimeters. Press on “–“ to mov e the needle to the right. Press on “+” to mov e the needle to the left.
66 Extender stitches e r q w P atterns 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 21 in Mode 2 are e xtender stitches , which are used to inser t straight stitches after a stitch pattern. 73 Inser t one strand of cording under the spring of the f oot and dra w it under the f oot to the rear (use the center slot of the spring). Select patter n 8 (mode 1), then decrease the stitch width and sew .

76 To sew Depress the f oot control to sew . The machine will sew a monogram then stop automatically and trim the threads. . Press the auto thread cutter button after prog ramming a monogram. The LED signal will tur n on and the cutter mark will appear after the monogram.
77 Viewing a long te xt The LCD screen only shows 8 characters of a monogram at a time . If the entire text is not displa yed, press the edit k ey or help ke y to scroll the te xt. Pressing the edit ke y shifts the cursor and scrolls the text to the left.
78 Select patter n 99 (b lank space). Press the memor y b utton and a space will be inser ted bef ore the letter “ C ”. Program patterns 28 and 31 in the Mode 3. 1 Inserting a letter (character) Example: To insert a space in “ ABCD ”. Press the Edit button to shift the cursor under the letter “ C ”.
79 Shift the cursor to the right of the last programmed pattern. Press the stitch width adjusting b utton to alter the stitch width. Uniform stitc h adjustment (Modes 2 and 3 only) The stitch width and length of the programmed stitch patterns can be uniformly altered.
80 Combining satin and decorative stitches Example: combination of patterns 28 and 41. Select the pattern 28 and 41 in the Mode 3. Press the stitch width adjustment ke y . The stitch width will be applied to all memorized patterns. NO TE: Y ou cannot adjust the stitch length setting when you combine satin stitches and decorativ e stitches.
81 Custom stitch adjustment (Mode 2 and 3 only) The stitch width and length can be individually altered f or each pattern in the programmed combination. Example: To alter the stitch width and length of a single patter n 73 in the combination. Press the Edit button to shift the cursor under the pattern you wish to alter .
82 A pattern combination will be kept in the memor y f or future use e v en after tur ning the machine off . The stored pattern combination can be recalled by pressing the memor y/recall b utton. Y ou can store up to 5 combinations in mode 2 and mode 3 individually .
83 Recalling a stored combination Select mode 2, 3 or monogramming Press the stock/call k ey to select the desired memory address. Press the turnover memory ke y to recall the stored combination. Deleting a stored combination Press the stock/call k ey to select the desired memory address.

86 CORRECTING DIST ORED STITCH PA TTERNS The sewing results of the stitch patterns may v ary depending upon the sewing conditions , such as sewing speed, type of the fabric , number of la yers etc. Alwa ys test se w on a scrap piece of the f abric that you wish to use.

88 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 1 Replacing the Light Bulb WARNING: Turn the power off before replacing the light bulb. The bulb could be HOT, wait until it has cooled down before touching it. To remove: Remove the setscrew. Remove the faceplate. Swing the lamp socket to the left and pull out the bulb.
89 PROBLEMS AND WARNING SIGNALS Warning Sign Cause If a buzzer sounds and the LCD screen shows a warning sign, follow the guidance below. The machine will stop if the buttonhole is sewn without lowering the buttonhole lever. The power is turned on without the foot control being connected.
90 The machine is started when it halts due to the overload. The feed dog is dropped while sewing. The bobbin winder spindle is locked while winding a bobbin.
91 Cause 1. The needle thread is not threaded properly. 2. The needle thread tension is too tight. 3. The needle is bent or blunt. 4. The needle is incorrectly inserted. 5. The needle thread and the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when start sewing.
