Technical Description Jamo SUB 250, 300, 550, 650.
General Descripti on With this d edicated subwoofer line u p fr om Jamo we wa nted to achieve several goal s. We wanted a subwoofer line up with th e best ever performance per $ and we wanted it to be able to mat ch a variet y of different speaker solutions on the market, including Jamo of cou rse.
Because of the flat frequency response all the way to 150Hz, SUB 250 is the ideal match for small satellite spea kers, since it allows you to integrate it seamlessly without missing the important middle bass area .
Since SUB 550 reaches very l ow, it features a B ound ary G ain C ompensatio n switch, which further helps to keep a flat frequency response, as BGC compensates for the room infl u ence at low frequencies.
Electronics The im port ant th ings on su bwoof er am plif iers a re the ability to deliver high power – especially peak burs t are impo rtant to rep roduc e e.g. an explosion or a bass drum with full fidelity. This has to be done wi th a minimum of distortion and a very ti ght c ontrol of the woof er.
Most of to day’s sub woofers have an auto o n/standby feature where by the subwoofer switches itself on if it sen ses a signal and switches in standby mode again a certain time after it has last se nsed a signal.
In/ Out put s All the subwoofers features speaker level inpu ts if there is lack of a line leve l/LFE level output on the amplifier/receiver. All sub woofers also have both left and ri ght line le vel input in case of st ereo sources and a loop through capability, i.
In normal setup, the po rt is radiat ing towards t he rear wall, giving an even higher efficiency at very low frequencies..
