When negotiating ram ps, if the throttle co ntrol lever is released while in the FORW ARD motion, the pow ered scooter will roll back a pproximately one (1) foot before the brake engages.

Som e devices are equipped with three-prong (grounding) plugs for protection against possible shock hazards.

SECTION 2—EMI INFORMATION Part No. 1118395 19 300 and 400 WARNING Powered Wheelchair Electromagn etic Interference (EMI) Because EM energy rapidly becomes more intense as one moves close r to the transmitting antenna (source), the EM fields from hand-held radio wave sources (transceivers) are of special concern.

This manual points out the most common proce dures and techniques involved in the safe operation and maintenance.
SAFETY/HANDLING OF POWERED SCOOTERS Part No. 1118395 21 300 and 400 Proper positioning is essential for your safety . STAIRWAYS WARNING DO NOT attempt to move an occupied powered scooter between floors using a stairway. Use an elevator to move an occup ied powered scooter between floors.

Regular cleaning will reve al loose or worn parts and enhance the smooth operation of your power ed scooter .

SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION 300 and 400 24 Part No. 1118395 INSPECT/ADJUST PERIODICALLY ❑ Ensure that the powered scooter drives straight (no excessiv e drag or pull to one side). ❑ Check frame for damage and corrosion. ❑ Ensure that the brake is eas y to engage/disengage.

Other- wise, injury and/or dam age may result. NOTE: T ake note of position and orientation of the seat post and seat post mounting screw befor e removing.
SECTION 7—SEAT 300 and 400 36 Part No. 1118395 ADJUSTING SEAT HE IGHT NOTE: For this procedur e, refer to FIGURE 7.2. 1. Remov e the seat. Refer to Removing/Installing the Seat on page 34. 2. Remov e the mounting screw , two (2) w ashers and locknut securing the seat post to the frame post.

SECTION 8—ARMS Part No. 1118395 41 300 and 400 CAUTION The arm can be adjusted to a maximum distance of 4½ inches from the inside of th e arm to the top of the mount ing shaft. If the ar m is adjusted beyond the m aximum 4½ inches, the arm will fa ll out.

SECTION 12—BATTERIES 300 and 400 50 Part No. 1118395 NOTE: If ther e is battery acid on the rear frame or on the sides of the batteries, apply baking soda to these areas to neutralize the bat tery acid. Before reinstalling the new or existing batteries, clean the baking soda from the batte ry tray or batteries.
