2. I N S T AL L A TI ON De vice Con nection Standard M ode ls ( M odel 5 2 1 8 7 1 ): Determi ne t he por t number of each computer . F or c om pu te rs us i ng a PS / 2 mouse , connect the computer ’ s mouse and keyboard cables to the connectors marked with a mouse and ke yboard , r esp ectively , as sho wn.
T o a PS / 2 c omputer : Connect a PS / 2 “Y” adapter , wh ich comes with the u ni t, to the PS / 2 por t on the PC si de , then use two mi ni-D IN6 ma le- to- male cables f or the ke yboa r d and mous e , as sho wn belo w . Ther e ar e t wo mi ni-DIN 6 fe ma le connectors on the PS / 2 “Y” adapter mark ed for the k eyb oard and mouse .

T o select a computer by hotk ey com mand , y ou need to know its port n umber , whi ch is de termi ned by the KVM swit ch mo dule connecti on . F or a computer connected to a master , its por t i s represented by the PC por t label ( 1 – 8 or A – H).
