Intel Desktop Board DP55WG Product Guide 26 Processor and Voltage Regulator LEDs The Desktop Board contains two red LEDs (see Figure 6) that indica te the status of the board’s voltage regulation ci rcuitry and the processor: • The Processor LED ( Figure 6, A) indicates an e levated temperature on the processor that could affect performance.
Desktop Board Features 27 Back to BIOS Button The Back to BIOS button ( Figure 7, A) duplicates th e functionality of the BIOS configuration jumper (see Setting the BIOS Confi guration Jumper on page 56) with the f ollowing exceptions: • It can only be used to force the board to power on to the BIOS Maintenance Menu using default values.

When installed in the chassis, the shield blocks radio frequency t ransmissions, protects internal components from dust and foreign objects, and promotes corre ct airflow within the chassis.

Hold the processor only at the edges, being careful not to touch the bottom o f the processor (see Figure 13). NOTE Do not discard the processor cove r. Always replace the processor cover if the you remove the processor from the socket.

For instructions on how to attach the processor fan heat sink to the Desktop Board, refer to the boxed processor manual or boxed thermal solution manual.

NOTE The Intel P55 Express Chipset requires me mo ry to be ins talled in the Channel A, DIMM 0 slot.

65 3 Updating the BIOS The BIOS Setup program can be used to vi ew and change the BIOS settings for the computer. You can ac cess the BIOS Setup program by pressing the <F2> key after the Power-On Self-Test ( POST) memory test begins and before the operating system boot begins.
