3 Important Operating Considerations for Safety • Place the projector in a horizontal positi on no greater than 15 degrees off axis. • Locate the projector in a well-ventila ted area without a ny obstructions to intake or exhaust vents. Do not place th e projector on a tablecloth or other soft covering that may block the vents.
4 Intr oduction Y our new digital projector is simple to c onnect, easy to use, and straightforward to maintain. The IN1 1 10a has native XGA 1024x768 resolution, and the IN1 1 12a has WXGA 1280x800 resolution. This guide a pplies to all products. They are compatible with a wide variety of computers and video devices.
5 Connector panel The projector provides th e following connectors: • Mini USB T ype B: Used for advancing slides, Display over USB, saving files to internal memory and software upgrades. • USB T ype A: Used to display photos , videos and other files from a USB source device.
6 Positioning the projector T o determine where to position the project or , consider the size and shape of your screen, the location of your power outlets, and t he distance between the projector and the rest of your equipment. Here are some general guideli nes: • Position the projector on a flat surface at a right angle t o the screen.
7 Connecting a computer sour ce VESA connection Connect one end of the provided computer cable to the Computer connector on the projector and the other to th e VESA connector on your computer . If you are using a desktop computer , you will n eed to disconnect the monitor cable from the computer ’ s video port first.
8 Displaying an image T ouch the Power button. The Power indicator bli nks green and the fans start to run. When the lamp comes on, th e start up screen displays and the Power indicator is steady gr een. It can take a minute for the image to ach ieve full brightness.
9 Adjusting the image If necessary , adjust the height of the proj ector by pressing the el evator foot releas e button to extend the foot. If necessary , rotate the leveling foot loc ated at the rear of the projector . A void placing your hands near the hot exhaust vent at the side of the projector .
10 V ideo device connections No video cables ar e pr ovi ded with the projector . Y ou can order cables from InFocus or provide your own. Composite video connection Plug a composite video cabl e’ s yellow connector into the video-out connector on the video device.
11 Shutting down the pr ojector The projector automa tically displays a bl ack screen after no active source is detected for 30 minutes. This black screen helps preserve the life of the projector . The image returns when an active source is detected or a remote or keypad button is pressed.

19 Using the remote contr ol The remote uses two (2) AA batteries (bat teries not included). They are easily installed by removing the cover from the remo te’ s back, alig ning the + and - ends of the batteries, sliding them in to pl ace, and then replacing the cover .
20 Using the audio Using the projector’s speaker T o use the projector's speaker, connect the audio source to the projector's Audio In connector .
21 Using the keypad buttons menu navigation buttons Most buttons are described in detail in other sec tions, but here is an overview of their functions: Power –turns the projector on and off (page 8). Auto Image –resynchronizes the projector to the source (page 26).
22 Optimizing computer images After your computer is connected properl y and the computer’ s image is on the screen, you can optimize the image us ing the onscreen menus. For general information on using the menus, see page 24. • Adjust the Keystone, Contrast, or Brightness in the Basic menu ( page 25 ).
23 Optimizing video images After your video device is connected pr operly and the image is on the screen, you can optimize the image using the onscreen menus. For gen eral information on using the menus, see page 24. • Adjust the Keystone, Contra st, Brightness, Color , or T int in the Basic menu ( page 25 ).
24 Using the menus T o open the menus, press the Menu button on the keypad or remote. (The menu automaticall y closes after 60 second s if no buttons are pressed.) Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the de sired menu option and then press the Select or right arrow button.
25 Basic menu T o change the following menu settings (or enter the A dvanced menu), highlight the desired menu option and press the Select or right arrow button. Use the left and right arrow buttons to scroll through the options and make adjustments. T o save your adjustments, press Select .
26 Advanced > Image menu 3D Control: • 3D : to ggles between on and of f. T urn it on to display the image in 3D. • 3D Sync Inver t : toggles between on and of f. T urn it on when the image is discrete or overlapping. Color: • Color Space : This option applies to computer and component video sources.
27 Advanced > Setup menu Audio Setup: • Powe r Sound s: controls whether the projec tor makes a sound when powered on and off. • Vo l u m e : adjusts the volume level. Image Position: • C eiling Moun t : turns the image upside down for ceiling-mounted projection.
28 Keypad/Remote: • Blank Key : se lects what to disp lay when the Blank Key on the remote is pressed: your custom snapshot, a solid co lor screen (blue, black or white), the factory logo screen, a timer , or test pa tterns. The timer option is useful for classroom tests or brea k times duri ng meetings.
29 Pin Settings: • Change PIN: T o en ter the PIN at projector startup: Power up the projector. The "Enter PIN" dialog box appear s after the startup screen. Enter the PIN. Use the navigation buttons on the remote or keypad to enter the correct button press sequence.
30 Source: • Powe r -up Source : determines which source the projector checks first for active video during power -up. • Se arch Screen : allows you to display a blank screen instead of the default screen at startup when no source is de tected. Options include the factory logo screen, a custom Snapshot, or a blue, black or white screen.
31 Advanced > S tatus/Service menu Source Info : a read-only display o f current source settings. Projector Info : a read-only display of cu rrent projector settings. Reset Lamp Hours : resets the lamp hours used c ounter in the Projector Info menu to zero.
32 Multimedia EZ Suite Menu When a USB source is inserted into th e projector (USB-A or USB-B), press the Source key and use the arrow keys to highlight the USB icon. Press the Select key to select the multimedia source. The Multimedia EZ Suite me nu displays.

37 Listening to Audio Files 1 T o listen to audio files, navigate to EZ Media and press the right arrow or the Select key . 2 Using the up and down arrows, highlight Internal Memory (if your images are stored on the projector) or USB (if you are using a USB-A source).
