IBM Lotus LMS Quick Install Guide This guide provides a sum mary of the installation process for LMS 1.0.2. For complet e information and inst ructions, see the Installation Guide . Prerequisites for installation • WebSphere Application Server http://www-3.
1. Allows the user to select w hich components to instal l. The user can install any combination of the fol low ing: Learning Management M odule (LMM) server application, th e Delivery Server (DS) ap plication, LMS Authoring Tool, and/or LMS utilities (command-l ine import and rostering utilities).
Installer Details The following example illustrates th e installation of both the LMM an d DS applic ations on a sing le Windows 2000 machine. The LDAP director y is an IBM Directory Server 4.1. 1. Language Select language and c lick on OK. On the Welcome p age, cl ick on Ne xt to continue.
3. LDAP Settings In this example, the LDAP server is on port 389 of t igr is-dev1.acme.com. The Base DN is o=ac me and the LDAP user name is lmsadmin. The LDAP user name must exist in the LDAP directory with in the specified b ase.
4. LMS Server Settings The LMS Server Settings capture information for th e Learning Management Module applic ation. Enter the base URL of t he LMM application which includes the b ase url of the L MM application server and a context root of "lms-lmm" for the LMM application.
5. Administrator Settings The Administrator Set tings capture infor mation about which user or group should rece ive Administrator access to the LMM application upon insta llation. Select the Administrator role type and specify a user or group that will receive admini strator access to the LMM application .
6. Content Management Settings The Content Management Settings identify where course co ntent is stored when imported into the LMM, the FTP username and password if the content will be d eployed vi a FTP to the Deliver y Server and the Notificat ion email format.
7. Delivery Server Settings The Delivery Server Settings capture information for the Delivery Server applic ation. Enter a string to identify this Deli v ery Server to the LMM application.
8. Web Server Settings The Web Server Settings c apture information about the loc ation of deployed content and the loc ation of the tracking servlet. Enter the URL of deployed content. This url points to a location on the Conten t server where course content will be deployed when an offerin g is created.
9. Content Deployment Settings The Content Deployment Settings allow you to specif y the type and location of deployed content. There are two ways in which content is deployed to the cont ent server either via FTP or through a filesystem copy.
10. System Administrator E-mail Settings The System Administrator E-m ail settings allow you to specif y an email address that will receive notifi cations from the system an d an email ad dress that ap pears as the From email ad dress on these notifications.
11. Install path This setting specifies t he directory path t o where install files will be written. To choose the default in stallation directory, c lick on Next t o continue. Otherwise, ent er the installation destination path or click on Browse to navigate to the install directory.

13. Finish Click on Finish to close the LMS Instal ler. Create and Populate Databases The LMS server uses 3 dat abases: 1. LMM application database (LMM server only) 2.
The database schema and seed d ata scripts need to be run against the 3 databases as follows: DB2 MSSQL Oracle auditaudit_db2.sql, auditaudit_data.sql auditaudit_mssql.sql, auditaudit_data.sql auditaudit_oracle.sql dsds_db2.sql ds settings_init_ds.sql dsds_mssql.
The LMS Installation Guide provides inst ructions for update t he Web server plug-in . Start LMS Applications After the preceding steps have been pe rformed, the LMS is ready t o be started. The Applic ation Servers an d Enterprise Applications can be started usi ng the WAS Ad ministrator console.
LMS Content Deployment Step By Step 1. The authoring tool ftp's the content package (.zip) to an ftp server. 2. The authoring tool sends a request to the Content Manager to import the package 3. The Content Manager impo rts the package from the ft p server and extracts the contents of the pack age under the "packages" direct ory.
